Replying To wexfordwin: "Hearing news of a pretty significant injury in the panel that has one of our main players out for the year unfortunately. You'd wonder do we have any luck. Dublin could easily win a Leinster title playing a weakened Kilkenny team minus Donnelly and Carey." Every team has their injuries. Or in the case of Dublin, often the best hurlers not playing with the hurlers. It is not going to be a weakened Kilkenny team and definitely not if Adrian Mullen is back. Donnelly is a big loss for them as he was outstanding in the round robin game.

Replying To ExiledInWex: "Where? How? Wanting to raise standards and have more success, and backing them up with suggestions is hardly "non constructive criticism"? Or what posts fit this description? I never come on here kicking teams when they are down, I know what teams put in to these. My main point always is its fair to say "a player did his best" but it is equally fair to ask "was he given the best coaching and opportunities to be the best he can be"? Are the structures the best they can be? Is every club doing the best they can do? Are we providing clubs and teams with opportunities to be the best they can be? Is the club setup the best it can be? Where the answer is no, it is not being negative to ask why." The answer to alot of those fair questions is no. But you have been on here whinging about the players after nearly every loss. You were even whinging about wasting money after a particularly poor game by our 2nd string against Clare in the League last year. According to you we were doomed after our first defeat this year, and again after our 2nd. That's what I mean about being negative.

He's going to get the op on his broken thumb after championship is over.

It was a worry to have that Wexford could have lost to Galway, Carlow and Kilkenny. Was it not? I was afraid that could have been the trajectory of the season myself.

Replying To Viking66: "Donnelly will play. He's going to get the op on his broken thumb after championship is over." Have you tried hurling with a broken thumb? I don't think he will be any use to Kilkenny with it. I broke my thumb 5 years ago and couldn't hold a hurl. I guess it depends where it is broken.

I heard one of our key defenders got bad news on a scan last week from someone who would know up here. May turn out to be inaccurate and I certainly hope it is

It's always a worry with Wexford. We don't need a lad to be continuously reminding us though. If he can't see how that is negative then he is a lost cause.

Now I've been told he will wait for his operation. Could all be a bluff and maybe he won't play. But I doubt it.

I know a few lads on the panel but don't like asking them on players etc.

Slightly off topic but it's Leinster final day and I'm gutted we are not there. Another chance this year that we threw away I feel.
The only positive is at least the Leinster final will feature 2 Leinster teams. I think the delegates in Leinster have been way too accommodating and compliant with Gakway and Antrim playing in Leinster. I'm not against them playing their round Robin before possible Liam McCarthy but in no way shape or form should Galway be in a Leinster final.
It means nearly nothing to them, they're not in Leinster! It means the world to Wexford .Offally and Dublin etc. We have suffered as a result more than anyone over the last 10 years or so. Galway were in nearly every final.
The remit of the Leinster Council should be promoting hurling in Leinster. I feel bending.over backwards for Galway is doing nothing for Leinster.
You could argue that Galway provides another competitive fixture in Leinster which it does but at whose expense especially when there is only 3 places out of RR in Leinster.
There should be an extra place out of round Robin in Leinster and I feel only Leinster teams should be allowed play in Leinster final. Until the provincial system goes then they are still provincial finals.
Remember the excitement in school and getting the special trains put on from Enniscorthy up to Croker. Those days are in the rear view mirror now.
You could also argue we need to get our house in order to be more competitive and that'd true too bit this system is a.complete disaster in my opinion.

Replying To Viking66: "Collective training on a pitch WEX98? When did the u14s start back? The u16s are only doing 1 collective training session on a pitch a week and didn't have trials til February." They were doing collective training Saturday mornings in Bunclody back in February, it was indoor because the pitches were so wet.
