Very surprised to see stand and open side still for sale . Hoping a lot of people decide to purchase tickets today with the fine weather . We need an atmosphere like the Kilkenny game last year . Replying To WEX98: "I had a look at the U14 Hurling and Football schedule for the club. 32 games in 16 weeks this includes 4 feile games for the older half. The younger half will have Rackard League. I'd say 90% of them are still finishing off either the soccer or rugby season, another 2 sessions a week. So for three months 90% of them are doing at least 5 sessions a week. The highest performing ones are on the school teams, county development teams, county soccer teams, playing up a year etc. and doing two sessions/ games on some days. Take it from the taxi driver!" Yeah right I remember that handpass give away for a point but as someone mentioned actually taught the backs did reasonably well. Hopefully your lads do well. As you said before it's important for Wexford hurling that your club have good young lads sticking with the hurling right through to adult. All I ever hear is that they're going to spend a fortune on underage development and from what I'm seeing, we're going nowhere. Just very worrying for the long term." Limerick haven't won a Minor All-Ireland since 1984 and they've been in two All-Ireland finals in the last 15 years (2014 and 2016), they've only won four Munster Minor titles since 1984 (2013, 2014, 2019, and 2020) and they've lost three in the last 15 years (2015, 2016, and 2018). As for U20/U21 level, Limerick have won Munster four times in the last 15 years (2011, 2015, 2017, and 2022) and been Munster runners-up once in that timeframe (2021); they've won two All-Irelands (2015 and 2017) and lost one (2022) in the same period. Your Rackard League team was very strong during the week. Odd that they were put in a group with ourselves and Crossabeg who were div5 last year! I liked the way they linked up well, and their calling for the ball, and encouraging their teammates, was very impressive. Definitely the most vocal underage team I ever saw play. In a good way. Hopefully they stick at it. One of them was telling me you are in div1 this year after winning div2 last year. Biggest home game of the year possibly. Anyway we can't force lads to go. Hope the lads on the pitch match Dublins fight, and we should get the win if they do! Good luck to them all! Half-forward line struggling, Chin has been cleaning up inside when the ball has gone in but we need him out in the half-forward line. Should be bringing on Conor Mac here if Dublin are going to stick O'Donnell on Chin, he'd keep them honest inside with the threat of the high ball. Donohoe has been struggling at times, has been caught out a few times in possession. Some of Fanning's puck-outs have been poor, have lacked accuracy. We've given them way too much off both our own puck-out and their own puck-out. Well that's a kick in the stones and makes any progression this year less achievable (though not impossible obviously). It's unforgivable to be five up in injury-time and still not hold on for victory. Still a mental fragility in there unfortunately. Everything that can be said about Chin has already been said, he is somehow still under-rated nationally. Only for him and Rory, today would have been a sorry result. Kind of concerning that we appeared to deviate entirely away from our gameplan from the league- route-one and less obvious angled balls into the corner. Hopefully it's a learning curve for Rossi and co. and doesn't become a notable issue as the season progresses. Physically inferior in our match-ups too which has been an issue for years now. One thing: the championship across both codes has shown up the importance of league form so far- the division one champions both beaten at home (Clare completely imploding), Waterford managing a win in Munster football for the first time in years, Sligo running Galway close yesterday. Some criminal game-management there at the end, they had created one goal chance in the entire 70 minutes and all we had to do was sell out against not conceding a goal Could have just dropped Damien Reck as a sweeper right in front of the square and asked him to make sure no-one won clean possession but we didn't do that ElGranSenor (Wexford) - Posts: 426 - 21/04/2024 15:47:30 2539542 Link
