Replying To fredflint:  "Whats the point in keeping on saying this statistic. If we won ulster next year and the year after it would be 5 ulsters in 55 years which would look terrible on the face of it but isn't that bad and I am sure we would all give our left ball for such a result. It strikes me you looking for the most negative statistic possible for some reason, especially give there are counties with worse records. Derry havent won ulster in 24 years believe it or not. Armagh havent won it in 14 years and havent even been in a final in 14 years. Down, the aristocrats, havent won Ulster since 1994, 28 years ago. A lot of "big counties" in Ulster have worse records than us."
Fully agree. It's bad, but nothing we can do about it now. No point raising it constantly.

Who cares what other counties record is like it doesn't take from the plain fact that 3 titles in 53 years is a pathetic return….

I was simply pointing out, yet again, that that certain poster doesn't know what he's talking about.

He blamed Padraig Faulkner for dropping the high ball Killian Clarke dropped against Donegal. And now he's talking about players leaving the panel in previous seasons, apparently due to style of play, when it's still happening up to and including this season.

You're dreaming that Cavan should be winning like the 30s and 40s when most of the other Ulster Counties barely had a team.

It's embarrassing that term Cavan were the aristocrats of Ulster when there was no competition and Cavan only started training after Ulster.

Heard word that Cavan played Mayo recently in a challenge on Saturday and apparently won by a few points, anyone know anything much about this?

Well we can't win it this year so it's 2 in 53 years . Count back from 2022 to1970 and you will be suprised that we its 53 Ulster championships.
Now there a few simple adding and subtracting Apps that you should download .

Won last one in 2020 ok that was November time so in November 2022 it will be 53 years. Apps or no Apps 2022-1969 is 53 year's, we won it in 69 not 70.

Going very tetchy over one year in over half a century…. No matter what way you look at it it's a deplorable record…

Jeez lads, we know it's a bad record, what's the point arguing over a year? We won't win it this year, so move on.

Thoughts for Saturday then? We know we're not good favourites, and I don't like it when everyone has us heavy favourites, not just for this game, but the whole tournament. Still, we should be more than good enough here, if we bring the intensity and play that we've seen last 2 games. Get back in the saddle, and move on from there. Down have little to lose, so need to make sure we're ready from the off here. Weather for Saturday is to be dry. Cavan by 5 I'd say

I think we should win here with something to spare…. Down are not in a good place at the moment and their overall record in back door games is nothing to write home about…. The fact we don't do well as favourites points that this team really can't be trusted to turn in a big performance when needed but I believe we should overcome this hurdle….. Cavan by 6+

Very strong team named for today. We're going for it at least in this competition by looks of it

No Conor Moynagh? Is he injured?

No idea to be honest. Be interesting to see who takes up his role. Oisin Kiernan and Marty Reilly back in though. Cian Madden on the bench, but could well be changes before throw in.

Ciaran Holla starting instead of Cormac O'Reilly. To drop back and cover that half back area you'd presume. Good to see him fit yi start now

Big win, but facile enough. They weren't up to much and had quit by early 2nd half. Good point taking, but poor decisions for some goal chances. Big score either way, but you'll get tougher opposition than these

Went the way I pretty much predicted ( 6+ ) but our inability to score goals against this type of opposition is the reason we can't dine at the top table… Against better quality opponents this is the main reason we will nearly always come up short…
