Great to get the win today, a one point win would have been enough for me. We did well against a very strong wind in Freezing Ardee in the first half, Sam the Man's last point into the wind was a delight. Second half we were pulling away with the wind, 6 points up, took our foot off the gas, they get an opportunistic goal and get back into it to make a nervous finish. We had great goal chances to finish it especially Tommy D. McConnon played well, but Sharkey was my M.O.T.M. Good to win not playing our best, than lose playing great. Turning point...O'Rourkes Meath awaits...we owe them a beating.? Up Louth

"We're experimenting all the while. We don't have what people would call a natural goalkeeper, who have been goalkeepers all their life, available to us at this level. We have to work with what we have and it's still a work in progress."
I can't help but think that this will be this teams downfall this year. It is madness to expect someone who has never played in goals to be able to come in and perform.
How about taking the best club keeper and coaching him to make him better!
Far too much is expected of keepers these days anyway, its almost an impossible job.

Louth dont do things easily. 6 points up and coasting and Limerick scored 1-1. It took the Treaty men 18 minutes to score in the second half. That was an important win yesterday. Up next is the Royals. Bring it on.

It is going to be a situation in the year or twos time where goalkeepers will be subbed off at half time for another goalkeeper if they are not getting involved in the build up play enough.

It will be a short summer for Louth I feel.

Weak squad.

Great atmosphere in park tailteann today. Louth deserved it. Should have grabbed a few goals in the first half. Fair play to Meath for going 5 ahead with 14 men but great resilience by Louth to dig deep to go 3 ahead. Won't be fearing Kildare at home next week.

Great credit to this bunch of lads. The way they bounce back even when things seem to go against them is very impressive. Delighted for Ciaran Downey. Momentum changed in those five minutes. But many, many heroes on a special day. Well done to the ref too for a brave and correct call on the red for a sly elbow. Lots to be very pleased and proud about and it still only February!!

What a win yesterday. Another win in our last three matches and we should be safe.

A joyous day in Navan yesterday, one we all have been waiting on quite a while , wasn't expecting the turn around we done in the second half.

Great scores by Ciaran Downey, really nailed them superbly to bring the final push /rally on.

Tommy Durnin was simply superb when he was brought on , absolutely covered every blade of grass and backed away from nothing , love to watch tommy in full flow.

On a side note, last few games, Sam Mulroy appears to be spending more time in the back line than up top, would rather see him up the forward line where he is better suited to do some of his magic .

There is nothing better than a Louth v Meath game in Navan. Fantastic atmosphere, both teams played their hearts out. Means a lot and we have a great team to beat Meath like that. Very happy man indeed. I agree about Mickey Harte statue, if we beat Kildare, Cork or Dublin will pay for it. Go on the we county.

Great day yesterday, great crowd and atmosphere. Kildare is there for the taking if we can keep up the momentum, one thing to note, why is Sam Mulroy playing in the half-back line, not criticising, but last year he was on fire up front, not sure about his role now.

What an incredible win on Sunday. To find themselves 5 down and come back to win just shows the belief MH has instilled in the squad. Downey kicked some huge pressure scores and Lennon's goal was huge quality in a big moment. As others have said, the tactic of having Sam Mulroy out around midfield is counter productive, though I think he does have a great knack of winning the ball back with his tackling around that area. The Kildare game will be really telling as to how far this team has come. In 3 years under MH, the Offaly ET defeat aside, the only league or championship game that we weren't competitive in was Kildare in the championship last year. Sunday will be like a championship game because ultimately if we lose then we'll be more than likely relegated and from Kildares perspective, very unlikely they'll stay up if they lose and are on the wrong side of the draw in the championship so it will be Tailtean Cup football.
