Replying To Ollie2:  "R.I.P to Jim McArdle who passed away the other day. Another one of the great 1957 Louth winning team leaves us."
RIP Jim. He played a significant role in getting us to the '57 final. Pity he got injured in the semi final against Tyrone and had to miss the final. Stephen White was moved to centre half in the final and played a blinder. Jim won senior championship medals with Young Irelands in 1950 and his native Roche in 1958. One of our great heroes.

Happy New Year to All Louth fans.

Been quiet since the county championship. We have had a good start in the O'Byrne Cup with tight wins over Westmeath and Kildare, Wexford game off Wednesday away, we are in Semis v Dublin most likely at home. Should be fun on the 15th January. Beat the Dubs and probably against Longford in final.

More games the better as Westmeath in the championship will always test us. Bring on an exciting league in Division 2. Bring it on...

Conor Early wants to transfer from the Plunketts. It would be a big blow to the Mell club if he leaves.

Smiley Philips is the new Rats manager. Welcome aboard.

Good after match interview by Offaly Manager after Dublin win. should make for a few sparks in Dowdallshill on Sunday. Would like to hear a response from Mickey Harte to balance the argument ....Bring it on...

Fair play lads. Will Louth be fulfilling their league fixtures or will you'se play only when it suits you? Louth were happy to pull out mid week but wouldn't budge and allow Offaly a few extra days to recover after they actually played their game midweek.

Obviously Mickey Harte didn't believe in more games the better. Mickey Harte always did what suited Mickey Harte. Division 2 is going to be some baptism of fire for Louth. If he could put 16 behind the ball he would.

Happy New Year to all. It was good to get out in Darver and Newbridge last week. A number of new men showed up very well particularly Kieran Murphy at centre half and Paul Matthews on the right wing. The fielding was very good as was the defending. The scoring was low but I'm sure Mickey has plan for that. Sam only play was for about 40 minutes in Nowhere. No sign of Tommy. Has he declared for us this year or might he now be an all out Farney man.
See you at the final.

Paul Matthews has pace to burn, very clever footballer too.

It will be interesting to see who will be midfield for us this year.

Mornington is like south central L.A. Its a no go area.

Yeah Louth orginally had home advantage so it must be punishment. Louth were lucky last year to escape from Longford with a draw.

To my knowledge there was a coin toss for the home advantage , can't punish Louth for Offaly not fulfilling the fixture and all that jazz….

Louth well beaten today. Louth hadn't a match in two weeks whereby Longford had a tough match against Meath 10 days ago. It showed today. Louth will be kicking themselves for not fullfilling fixture against Wexford

Could be a a short stay for Louth in Division 2.

Footballers are just not there to play at a higher level than division 3.

They only game we can hope to win is against Limerick.
