Replying To B&G:  "Louth well beaten today. Louth hadn't a match in two weeks whereby Longford had a tough match against Meath 10 days ago. It showed today. Louth will be kicking themselves for not fullfilling fixture against Wexford"
No they won't.

Strange match, Longford played well and took their chances, fair play to them, we were in the game until the second goal. Never seen so many Louth players lose their footing, fall over and cough up posession, which lead to opposition scores.

There's man all over for you, blaming on his boots the fault of his feet." ...

Bring on the league, 3 goals against us at this stage is perfect medicine imo, good crowd and banter with the Longfordians. An Lu Abu.

Many going to Clare at the weekend, will be a tough game in my opinion.

We need to tighten up big time at the back and not be dispossessed coming out from defence which leads to easy scores like the Longford game.

We got some good scores ourselves but sometimes we took the wrong options, we are much better when we attack directly and not just going over and back between the 45s. Also we need to make better use of the forward mark to get over packed defences. Easy scores.

Any idea on team as there was alot of new faces during the O'Byrne Cup.

The team out on Saturday last was the poorest of the three we played this year. In the first two games the backs played well as did midfield. The forwards were not great. On Saturday the forwards improved but scoring is still too low despite Sam's efforts.
Based on the three games this would be my team for Ennis :-

D. Byrne
D.Corcoran. B. Duffy. P.McKenny
L. Grey. C. Murphy. C. McKeever

C.Byrne. C, Earley
P.Matthews. S. Mulroy. L. Jackson
J.Hughes. C.Grimes. R. Burns

I came on to post on the Clare game but what a hilarious comment. Louth didn't play half their team, most of them stayed and trained in Darver. This had zero to do with Wexford.

I'm going but more in hope than anything else. Clare are a really solid division 2 team and will be massive favourites. Just hope we don't end the league with seven losses from seven.

4 point turnaround in extra time. What happened? 2 points would have set us up nicely.

Is Ciaran Byrne injured after today. Sounds like we had a good performance but were unlucky to lose. Good to see we are there or thereabouts as Clare are a solid Division 2 team. Made a good run in the championship last year. We have to beat Meath in Navan now which will be great crack altogether.

A very encouraging display. Luck had nothing to do with the outcome. Blatant dishonesty. No sane person present could have seen the tackle on Grimes at the end as a free out to Clare. They equalised from that and scored the winner in the 8th minute of injury time. 2 minutes more than in a first half that had a player treated for 4 minutes on the pitch and then stretchered off. However there were plenty of positives from the excellent work rate, tigerish tackling and quick counter attacking. Great Louth crowd too.

What is with Louth and getting bad decesions from refs that goes way back to the 1950 All Ireland football final? Or is it just a mental thing with Louth that wee cant seem to finish off teams when we have our noses in front? A massive task this weekend with Derry coming to the Wee County. Louth have not beaten the Oak Leaf County in the League since 1983/1984 season.

Cruciate ligament injury for Casey Byrne , out for entire season and who knows how much longer.

Like Tommy Walsh from Kerry, his body has been destroyed by all that AFL training at a young age.

I'd say that is the end of Casey now.

Louth did well to stay with Derry through out the match. When Derry went 1-04 to 0-2 points up I was fearing the worse but fair play to Louth they did not drop their heads. A soft penalty and a cheap goal was the difference in the end. Derry and the Dubs are my two teams to go up. Limerick and Meath are up next. Two matches they need to win if they have any chance of avoiding the drop.

Good performance against Derry but no points on the board. Late goal was a sickener when we were well
In it. Need some points at this stage.

The 2 goalkeepers McEnaney and Declan Byrne have left the panel

James Califf will be in goals next week

GK situation Turning into a farce at this stage

Don't understand it at all. We have over 40 adult goalkeepers playing with clubs in the county. We put a forward with no experience in goals for a very important game. We won hardly any kick outs with a number going straight over the sideline. Then punched the ball to a Derryman for the goal. Peter may be a good forward. He played a big role in our goal. But that had nothing to do with being a goalkeeper. We had five fellows in a line across the 21 yards line tipping to each other. Four could do the same job. James Califf was a good centrefield man in his day. Not sure if he's No.1.
It was very disappointing when we could have won. Like always we will get over it.
Undoubtedly Mickey has done a remarked job so far. We are grateful. But the winning feeling was so good. To lose like we did two weeks in a row is hard on the head. Anyway when we beat Limerick, Meath, Kildare and Cork we will be talking about the Dubs in the Leinster final.
