After Carlow won the B All-Ireland in 1994, did they compete in the B All-Ireland competition in 1995? I know they played Laois in the Leinster Championship that year and lost the replay.

The all Ireland b was held in autumn if memory serves me, I don't recall being in it in 95 maybe 94 was the last year?

We competed in it again in 1996 drawing with Longford and losing the replay, but I'm not sure if we took part in 1995 it may have been that we were not involved after winning it the previous year hopefully someone here can shed some light

I think you're right. The holders didn't get to defend it. I don't recall any team winning it twice in a row.

I believe you are right, if you won it you were out the following year, I wonder what year it ended, assuming it was in the late 90s I don't recall any other year bar 94

It started in 1990 and finished in 2000 as interest and attendance fell with Fermanagh winning it last.

Senior Football draw
I havent been on this in ages, just wondering whats people take of the Football draw.
Group 1 Tinryland,MLR,Bagenalstown and Fenagh
Group 2 Pal, Eire Og, Rathvilly and Old leighlin
Group 1 looks very open with Fenagh handed a much easier draw to stay up but the other teams all capable of beating each other. Most expect Tinryland to top the group but i give Bagenalstown a great chance to top the group.
Group 2 on paper looks much harder than 1, most people would expect Old Leighlin to struggle in that group with the other 3 teams qualifying to the knockout stages. I have a feeling with the 2 Bambricks and Aarond Amond that they could catch one of the teams on the hop. Eire Og to top group.

Inter draw
Group 1 Clonmore, Tullow, Myshal and Grange
Group 2 Kilbride, Kildavin, Ballinabranna and EO
Group 1 looks the tougher group with both Clonmore and Tullow likely to top the group. Myshal have been beaten in the last 2 inter finals so are well capable of causing an upset. Grange had a very poor league form. Tullow to top the group and Grange to be bottom.
Group 2 likely to be between Ballinabranna and EO. EO won the league but the unknown is how many players will they lose to the first team. Kilbride really were poor throughout the league and even with Darragh Foley back should struggle and for me are likely to go down.
Thats my take, i might have a look at the juniors next week.

I think the Tommy Murphy wasn't played until later again, 08? Or 09?

Senior is hard to call this year, I see palatine tinryland eire og rathvilly and bagenalstown around the same level. I feel tinryland will have to develop their kicking game to get over the line, palatine if they can replicate last year are in with a big chance, rathvilly probably left it behind them last year, ageing team though but might be one last burst from them, eire og similar to rathvilly some of their best players are coming to the end, will the use this year to blood the next generation and see where it leaves them, bagenalstown are maybe the dark horses, but a decent team and arguably the handier draw, plenty of pace.

Intermediate is always hard to call, clonmore are a club on the rise, some good underage teams coming through there atm, they are contenders for sure, myshall may have missed their chance, tullow are another club on the rise, its been slow and steady but they are coming, eire og will be strong too, I think it depends on how many of those young players go senior

Leighlin Bridge should win junior, ballon will probably be the biggest threat, but I think ballon might need another year, some very good St martins players starting to filter through there so another club that should rise in the coming years.

No. It was initiated in 04 and abolished in 08 due to lack of interest. It'll be interesting to see what feedback comes from the counties after a year or two with this TC.

Just saw the fixtures for the weekend and was shocked to see the intermediate game between carlow town and MLR is down for the same time as the All Ireland hurling semi final! Maybe there is a valid reason but I would of thought its not exactly the best way to promote the game in the county's main town.

In all honesty apart from the players and maybe 20 others who else will be at that match ?
I would think if both teams wanted to watch the semi then the game would not be at that time and the teams would have agreed a different time.

You could be right. I just was thinking that if you followed hurling in the town and wanted to bring your child to watch the local club well you might think twice! Anyway like I said maybe there was a reason for it to be on at that time.
