It seems as if we're allowed to use the same facilities as the heavy gang. Is this part of Levelling the Playing Field project.

It's a pity we are losing our own forum, I know not many posted on it but it was easy to find.

It won't last, it's like a class room with no teacher.

Nice little first for you Blackbog, the passionate Carlow man that you are, how long is the Carlow forum it was up and running when I signed up. I'm seriously thinking of calling it a day.

On a different note.. any thoughts after the weekend we had in senior and intermediate football.... E O looked very good, Tinryland were poor enough while Blues were very poor and Pal slipped a lot in second half especially late on and Rangers played more direct that OL and showed good discipline in defence.
Tullow will be disappointed with their tally while Kilbride lost their discipline against a balanced Kildavin.
An interesting weekend all round and more to come next weekend.
Very small attendances also I thought. Perhaps the dominance of E O is a big factor in attendances as even their hard core support was largely absent against Tinryland.

15 euro for double headers is putting people off if imagine, also the senior is decided and was before a ball was kicked, the relegation final should be interesting though, it's looking like old leighlin Vs o'hanrahans and you would fancy old Leighlin to just about survive.

Intermediate is interesting, fenagh are probably the strongest of the remaining 4 but have the learned from last year, they struggled to break down kildavin in the semi last year if they have learned from that I think they will win it convincingly

Grange look dead certs for the junior

It's expensive on us as a couple @ €15.
We love to go to the games. But €30 3 days on the trot is just not affordable for us.
Saw Bagenalstown Gaels at the weekend and was very impressed.
They're game with Rathvilly should be a cracker, could go either way.
Eire Og probably strong favourites for title and could have a good run in Leinster I'd imagine.

SFC QF's this weekend:

Pal vs MLR
Tinryland vs Bagenalstown

Expecting both to be close. MLR may have only won one game, but they were within a point a both Bagenalstown & Rathvvilly and they will certainly challenge Pal physcailly, but I still expect Pal to come out by 4/5 points in the end. their forwards will make the difference.

The other game I think will be tighter than most expect. While Bagenalstown are developing into a very good side, they are still very wasteful and miss too many scoring chances They should have beat Rathvilly yesterday and had more than enough chances to pull clear of MLR and Old Leighlin in both games. Tinryland are setup well defensively and will try frustrate Bagenalstown into making mistakes and taking low percentage shots. Tinryland don't offer enough going forward IMO, but if Broderick is on his day, don't be surprised if Tinryland pull this on out. Bagenalstown by 3, but it will be a struggle.

Also, on the relegation, how a shambles of a team like the Blues has another opportunity to same themselves is ridiculous. I get what the Co board were going for when making that decision, but Ballinabranna going straight down, having won a game and a scoring diff of -18 in 4 games (compared to -46 for the Blues in 3 games) is very harsh. Best and fairest thing would have been to put Blues, OL and Ballinabranna into a 3 team round robin, with the team finishing top staying up.

After the weekend Inter semis and last group games of the senior, im still none the wiser who gets relegated. I know Bbranna go down automatic as they finished 5th in the group. The confusion is what happens if Eire og win the inter, do Myshal go up as Eire og cant field 2 teams at snr. If the answer in no do the Blues and Old Leighlin stay up. I really hope 2 teams drop and that myshal no matter the final result go up.
Inter games
I think Fenagh missed an opportunity against EO 2nd string, EO very strong defensive and restricted Fenagh. What happened near the end was disgraceful and would look out of place in WW wrestling, id say a lengthy ban is the outcome.
Myshal kept hanging in and got over the line against KC who at times very wasteful.
A repeat of the Div 2 final which EO won by a point and again should be a tight game. If EO can limit myshal from scoring goals should win.
Seniors
I fancied Bagenalstown to turn over Rathvilly but left it too late and Bbranna deserved a win after been involved in a few tight games.
Looks like Rathvilly v Pal and EO v Baggo semis.

As far as I know, Myshall will be promoted regardless of the result on Saturday. Loser of OL vs Blues goes down along with Ballinabranna, leaving SFC at 8 teams next year.

I think on previous occassions where Éire Óg won Inter, the y had the option to field 2 senior teams the following year, but declined the opportunity. Assume same this year, as there is very little incentive to do it, given that you're automatically making 20+ lads ineligible for the first team. On those occasions, there was then no relegation from Senior, so Blues & OL might be saved

The intermediate final was certainly very disappointing with Eire Og the winners after a few mins. Myshall did not raise a gallop and never looked like getting a run on Eire oG at all. Eire Og wee very focused and determined and were in a serious mood with all players in tip top form especially at midfield. Eire Og will now have to regrade a lot of players next year. Will be interesting to see who is chosen.
Pal could not win against Rangers with snack box brilliant in goals. Where now for Pal... have promised a lot but have not delivered as much as expected.

I think sense prevailed in terms of the relegation/promotion to SFC. Myshall showed in the final they aren't at senior level. Ballinabranna getting another shot to stay up is fair also, given how they acquitted themselves this season.

Huge credit to MLR for the shift they put in on Sunday. Had they converted those two early goal chances in the first half, it would have made things alot more interesting. It's a testament to the club however that they can get to this point while prioritizing hurling. EO were solid, got the job done. They will probably need to be better against Rathvilly, but having a good test like that will really stand to them.

In the other semi, Rathvilly I thought were very good against a team that had them on the ropes only a couple of weeks back. Played some lovely stuff at times and took some good scores. Bagenalstown I don't think can have too many complaints. It was a good year for them and they still have a young side with room to further develop.

For the final, tough to see past EO. Rathvilly will need to score around 18 points if they want any hope of beating EO.

Any idea why Ger Brennan left Carlow set up . Joyce sounds like a decent addition
Also u 20s have secured a good manager and can steady that ship after last year's debacle

I can see Eire og being
real contenders for Leinster this year

Rathvilly will have other ideas on Eire Og.
Going to be a very close final. I predict a 1 or 2 point win either way.
