It got lifted because Mulla went to the courts and got a lawyer.

Carrick will suffer the same outcome tonight with the Longford CCCC but do they go back to Leinster and further afield to the DRA. Jimmy Mc getting off his suspension is laughable but it will give Carrick hope as me was successful in the end with the DRA.

Appeal was apparently upheld on a technicality regarding how the initial hearing was conducted. So now a revised CCC will do it all again with some different people in the room and arrive at the same conclusion as last time. Any escalation after that to Leinster or DRA will get short shrift.

Unwise not to postpone the weekends games once Leinster had ruled that another hearing was needed - disrespectful to Carrickedmond and a poor way to run things. I think they are wasting their time with this appeal, but they are entitled to pursue it. All of the bad feeling that will come from this and the national headlines in recent days could have been avoided. Change is long long overdue on that committee - we are a laughing stock because of a number of high profile failures to conduct the committees business correctly in recent years.

If the game vs Slashers is refixed to after the appeal has formally concluded, then Carrickedmond will probably play it. But if the game has been awarded to Slashers on account of Carrickedmond not fulfilling the fixture, expect another objection and lengthy process and more headlines.

True but supposewhether right or not and you are from carrick or mull in that case with mc givney if you can afford you will try your best.

Dis he get off technicality clearly they knew a lawyer that could.

Can see where carrickedmond come from .
Could ve drawing process whether it is enough for Carrickedmond.

He could not have gone through the courts The reason the DRA was brought in was to prevent clubs going to the high court

You can bring lawyers to the Leinster hearings too I believe?

In terms of weekends results, Killoe-Dromard game was as close and dogged as I thought it was going to be. Dromard are always hard bet. Thought Clonguish would edge past Colmcille but they picked a bad day to have a bad day and Colmcille will make you pay. Mullinalaghta still a strong contender. The abbey-rathcline game was barely watchable.

Killoe will still be favourites but if the weekend proved anything its that when push comes to shove there isn't much between any of the four left standing, and on the day any of them can beat the other.

Ardagh Moydow getting relegated to Junior is a blow. Ballymahon will follow them which is mad considering they were playing senior championship last year. Intermediate still firmly between Connollys and the Gaels.

Is the championship coming in for more controversy? I heard Granard objected to McGivney playing at the weekend, he was given a pardon until his case is re-heard. I've never heard of this situation before that a player is suspended, then pardoned, then the suspension might be implemented again. It is a mockery all round. We may have to start the whole year again back at the O'Byrne cup.

Replying To BallWatching:  "I tried to put this in last week about it and my comment was posted. I think it's an absolute disgrace. I think putting him back in made an absolute joke of the ideas of rules / regulations, but I think what's even worse is this absolute rubbish of flying lads home from Oz to play ball for final few matches of Championship, no respect to lads who have been training all year at the club. Mulla did a great thing a few years by putting Longford on the map but the way the club acts on / off the pitch at times is disgusting in my opinion, i've never seen a team start as many rows as some of their lads do."
It's none of your business who they play or don't play.

By the way not saying they are perfect. Clearly an agenda here ? Just a question as its not up to us decide who they fly home or not if the played flew home off his own accord sounds like an agenda here picking every little thing. Which is bit ott.

I do think that suspension overturn was wrong but again most clubs would appeal to try and see if they thought it was worthy. The problem is too many lack of follow through problem in gaa generally in terms of discipline in Longford as well.

Not stirring the pot but I've heard rumblings of a Carrickedmond victory with the CCC which to be totally honest by the letter of the law is ludicrous. No official word yet however.Everybody who called for a replay has little to no understanding of the rules

Struggling with the thought process of the CB in relation to the 2 outstanding issues they had. In one case, McGivney, they are awaiting another hearing so they decide to allow him to play in the meantime while in the second, Carrick, they are also awaiting another hearing so they decide to kick them out of the championship anyway. They appear to have taken the polar opposite approach to the 2 situations and I could see why Granard would have a serious issue if he is subsequently suspended meaning if the CB were in any way right he shouldn't have been playing against them!

All quarter finals to be replayed as originally planned seems the likely outcome now, the more this saga rolls on. I'd imagine games will be played 3 weekends in a row.

This will be a money spinning exercise for the CB.
If last weekend matches are null and void will red cards be overturned.
When will a final decision be published
