Replying To meathbasedfan:  "London will be a tight siege, rain forecast so Carrick will be heavy (as usual). great to see Rooney doing well last week. we need more options up front. someone mentioned earlier about Riordan O'Rourke, i would be uncertain about him in a Leitrim jersey, i just don't think he has it. but hopefully he proves me wrong. best of luck to them, bank holiday weekend so hopefully lots get out and support them."
Forecast for Sunday OK

I don't think it is fair to single out Riordan

Four points again on Sunday would do me anyway

If and it's all if…. We beat London and Laois beat Wexford not completely unrealistic then the game with us against Wexford will be huge win that and you almost put Wexford out of the picture they will have 2 lost and we will have head to head on them. Would have nearly a knockout feel to it if it transpires that way.

I think Riordan is a very good footballer. Unfortunately he through the toys out of the pram last year and bolted when he was asked to play wing back. A player that does that once will do it again. Unfortunately Leitrim are not in a position to be picky with who pulls on a green and gold jersey. I wouldn't have had him back.

I am very disappointed to read this post.

Firstly, who in life never made a mistake?

Secondly, If you look at his career with Leitrim in the round ,his attitude and commitment has been excellent.

Thirdly, he is nsck and obviously playing well.

We should be getting behind these lads and not signalling out anyone of them for criticism like this.

Fair enough to debate the team selection who should be on etc.

Riordan O'Rourke had a great game for Leitrim against Waterford scoring a real poachers goal. The lad should be encouraged not unfairly criticised. We have a good balance in this years squad and am confident we can overcome London. Home advantage & a good crowd will boost our lads.Good luck lads ignore the moaners.

Another good win against London , if we can win our next 2 games we'll have a right say in the promotion battle . Darragh Rooney seems to be filling beirnes boots quite well!

Well done Leitrim against a London side who came to frustrate Leitrim rather than win the game. Can't see them winning any game with 15 behind the ball with no ambition.Leitrim tactics spot on keep possession and draw them out of their shell.Glad to hear Andy say Cillian McGloin,Pearse Dolan and JamieMcGreal back for Wexford game plus new lad Walsh transferred from Galway to make debut. Looking good with Wexford completely out of game against Laois and Longford losing out to an average Tipperary. A home win next day should set us up for tough away games against Laois & Carlow with Longford possibly out of the promotion race.Keep it going Leitrim.

Good to get the win today not a great performance by any means but we'll certainly take two wins and a scoring difference of plus 20 after two games. Easiest games played now every game is tough from now on starting with wexford next . Hopefully have a full strength team out heard word that Keith Beirne may be back before end of league be great news if true? Does anyone know if Jordan Reynolds is part of the panel this year?

Have to agree. I was at the game and London were so negative. They sat so far back with 15 behind the ball. They parked the bus and offered nothing else.if they actually played ball then we would have won by much more.

Pearse Dolan will be a massive addition to us if he is back , IMO our best and most natural midfielder.

Don't know who this Walsh lad from Galway is - can someone enlighten me… where does he play? What club does he play for?

If we get Keith back in our attack we will get promoted. I honestly think that no team in division 4 can live with our attack and especially if Keith comes into it, it's game over

As I said last week I was nt concerned about todays game, spade a spade London are poor. I have to say I didn't enjoy watching our style of play today but a win is a win. A home win against Wexford will put us in a really good place.

Niall Walsh is a former Cavan minor & U21 forward who transferred to Moycullen as a Garda and was their top scorer last year. His parents are from Glenfarne and has now transferred to Leitrim where he was togged out on Sunday wearing No. 9 but not used. Looks like Andy will use him in midfield where his physique & experience will be a major asset. Big boost for us.

Walsh is originally from Cavan. Played U-21 with Cavan. Transferred to Moycullen as he is a Garda based in Galway. Plays full forward I think. A good player by all accounts.

Every game from here on out is going to be a slog. It would be nice to have Keith back but I think to be fair to others, his starting position should be on the bench. Sunday two weeks will tell us more about where we're really at. Carlow will be also confident of their chances against us. Win both of those games and I'd be confident of promotion.

True, in what you say , played with Shannon Gaels but is a native of Glenfarne .

Correct, Walsh is not originally from Cavan. He's originally from Leitrim (Glenfarne) - but played his club football with Shannon Gaels ( Blacklion area) which must be close to him (Leitrim/Cavan border is right at Glenfarne).

Also assuming technically Glenfarne/Kiltyclogher would have been his 'local' team - junior obviously. No idea where he played under-age at schools level....... you would think Manorhamilton...... no idea,

On the other side (Cavan to Leitrim), I do remember in the old days of black and white when I played schools football - Manor would have had "Cavan" players playing for them from the Blacklion area as they went to school in Manorhamilton, probably still do. Some very handy players indeed.

(Played golf quite a few times up there in Blacklion - members are a complete mix of Cavan, Leitrim, Fermanagh).

Thats a good win against London when we didnt even perfom near our maximum. Many a match we've watched Leitrim underperform and lose so two wins from two is a great start but now the real football starts.

London were not really interested in taking the game to us and their approach made it extremely tricky at times.

Missing Pearce Dolan, Paul Keaney, Cillian McGloin, Adam Reynolds, Jordan Reynolds, McGreal, Tom Prior and Keith Beirne (if he returns). Mark Plunkett only came on for a few minutes aswell.

All going well with the two week gap the majority of those missing players will start which should bring us up a level or two. Even the level of player we will be able to spring from the bench will improve which should help considerably.

Walsh would be 29/30. He was an U21 in 2015. Played good stuff for Moycullen when they won Galway Senior and Connacht in 22.

Anthony Forde who won an Ulster Title with Cavan played football for St Clare's,plenty of lads from Blacklion/Dowra have played football for St Clare's over the yeas and go to school in Manor.
