Why? Whats your crystal ball saying? The only way is up when you are rock bottom. I believe Moran will get a bounce out of Leitrim. Not saying they gona win a connacht championship, but theres every chance of a good league campagin and thats success in my eyes. Best of luck to him i say

Moran is a weird appointment with his lack of experience but if Mike Solan is with him as reported could be good. Solan won an All Ireland u21 with Mayo a few years ago.

A Roscommon man, who played for Mayo, managing Leitrim.

Makes sense when you think about it.

Best of Luck to Andy Moran. Its an exciting appointment not without Risk, hopefully he has a good backroom team with him.

The chap has less than a years management experience... WITH HIS OWN CLUB! He 'helped out' with the Mayo U20's for a few months before that. He has absolutely no management experience worthy of a county job. Sloan perhaps has the pedigree worthy of a county job but lets not kid ourselves about Moran. If they don't get Leitrim out of Division 4 it will be failure.

Not weird at all. This is a great appointment with Moran and the experienced Michael Sloan. I am looking forward to hearing who the selectors and other team members are.

The reaction on the ground is very very positive and who knows we might even renew the Roscommon rivalry with the Moran edge.

What rivalry ye beat us once in 21 years and I think twice in 40 championship matches b4 ye go sprouting fbd results.

Fair play to you having those statistics off the top of your head. And thanks for your contributions here, they're very helpful.

It's a great appointment for roscommon, there will be no easing up now when Ros teams look to the sideline and see the badge kisser squirming.

Well that is all that really matters. If he can get the players to buy into it and it causes a bit of a buzz around the place its a good start.
Best of luck to him and Leitrim. He is brave to take the Job and credit where its due.

Why is he brave? It's probably the easiest job in football, there's no expectations there at all. I think it's a bizarre appointment instead of going for someone local with experience.

Great choice for Leitrim's young players. He has plenty of experience as a player with Mayo and in time he will learn the management skills. Hopefully Leitrim players will train hard and give their all for Andy and the jersey.
