Replying To Leitrimforliam:  "Well done Drumkeerin. Look forward to playing there. It's a real shame there isn't better media coverage of our club championships. I was just thinking there should be some journalist or radio show asking the county board why isn't the Junior A final being played in Pairc Sean. The interviews Darren Mulvey of Shannonside done after the game were brilliant and have gone viral. I do think there is a gap there for it. Breifne Early made an attempt at it the past few years. But surely a club championship roundup Sunday evening show on Shannonside that then could be posted onto Facebook etc would get decent views. There wasn't really much hype before this years county final. That being said I think promoting of the game is a national GAA issue not just here in Leitrim."
Leitrim County board prevented Breifne Early from doing his work In promoting Leitrim GAA as some clubs reckons it was effecting the gate money as people were staying at home and listening to the game online instead of attending which is farcical and shows how much we are stuck in the Stone Age and will continue to be left behind.

Mohill are ahead of carrick and can take the next few titles. The fenagh Allen Gaels amalgamation walked carrick in the minor so they have winners coming into senior while carrick do not.

I hope that isn't true. The stupidity. I really do think a highlights show would be good. Nearly every club game is filmed at the minute anyway. Or even post clips of good scores. Or even a point of the year or goal of the year competition. I think it would just add something to it.

That is a disgrace if true. I liked his work and shows that we will never really progress as a county with that sort of backwards thinking

Quick one there was just talking to a lad that said Gortletteragh are the only team that one an Intermediate championship with their second team. In 2003. Is this true that no other leitrim team completed this feat.

Marketing costs money and there comes a point where spending additional money on marketing doesn't translate into extra revenue and that in reality is what pays to keep the lights on. I recall that there used to be an 'up for the match' night in the Bush Hotel years ago but it obviously fell by the wayside as it was dependant on people giving their time to it for free and there was no real monetary benefit to it as it wasn't sponsored by anyone. I extremely doubt that Leitrim GAA were paying Breifne to promote GAA in the county and anything he gained from it was from the sponsorship he gained (if any at all) via his own website. And lets be honest, how much marketing of the GAA is needed in a small county like Leitrim? There's a club in nearly every mid sized parish from Kinlough to Carrigallen... it's in the Leitrim Observer every week... most clubs have their own website & Facebook / Twitter pages... It's hard to miss. You're either interested or not. However I do feel we don't do PR great (as opposed to marketing) in the GAA... try finding out about anything at local / national level (in my experience) it's not always straight forward. Try getting involved and it's not always as inclusive as it should be (well in my experience, others may have a completely different view). At the end of it all the majority of people give up their time for free to run the nuts and bolts of the organisation and that has to be respected also.

Totally agree. Been reliably informed that the storys are a complete and utter lie. Some real begrudgers out there and some dangerous people as well. The chanting from the Carrick crowd at the weekend was a disgrace and I'm delighted they got beat. Well done Mohill.

In Cavan the games are streamed and separate commentary online/radio also.

Review and Preview podcast shows throughout the week for Senior, Intermediate, Junior & Ladies football for a fiver a month on Patreon.

Should be the same for every county.

Well I wouldn't say they are wrong regarding the attendance.

The attendance for all championship games is significantly down compared to 10/15/20 years ago. This is not just club football but also clear to be seen at Leitrim county games too.

Compare the attendance to other counties just by a visual.. compare the attendance to video circulate form 2006 when Mohill bet Carrick.. its clear to be seen the numbers aren't a fraction of what they use to be.

Underage titles don't nessacarily translate to multiple senior titles. Carrick were even more dominant underage in the late 80s with what at underage looked to be generational players Benny Guickian Brian Duignan and Gene Bohan. But the failed to dominate at senior level with dozens of very good intercounty underage players drifting away from the team due to a number of factors. Eg a lot of similar standard players vying for 15 places and not enough game time at senior level. Opportunities outside football. From what I saw last weekend there are very few generational talents on that Carrick team. Maybe Keaney and Guickian. To many one footed players.

Predictions for the Intermediate and Junior Finals this weekend expecting tight affairs in both

Maybe not as a unique accomplishment as I thought. I think the eligibility rules for second teams has made that impossible now and that there are more teams in intermediate than previous years.

Keaney is a nice player but is very slow.
