Weather playing ball??. Have you been outside since Tuesday. Hope we do get a good game and good day for it.

If Carrick can avoid disappearing in the 3rd quarter then they'll be well on their way. It's been a feature of their games. Obviously keeping KB quiet will play a huge part as well.
The performance of one individual will have a huge bearing on the outcome. Hopefully he'll have a very quiet game and we won't even notice him.

Replying To Tacaí Liatroma:  "Incidentally, when was Glenfarne's last win against another first team in the championship? Not trying to belittle them, or Cloone for losing to them, I'm just genuinely curious. I could trawl through the Leitrim GAA website but life's too short."
They bet Eslin in the semi final in extra time 2 years ago after losing to them in the group stage.

Last year they lost in the QF by a point to eventual winners Carrigallen.

Always like Glenfarne, small area that punched above their weight over the years. Were not far off an intermediate title for a few years.

Likes of Allen Gaels or Annaduff would have been better placed to hold their own in Senior, probably Kiltubrid as well.
Honestly think 2 up and 2 down is the way to go if they will not cut the number of teams in inter and senior, a joke how teams can do the minimum to stay up."
I love the way everyone says that this time or that team might be better placed to compete or stay up rather. They had the opportunity last year but Aughnashelin won the intermediate so they don't get the opportunity so simple as.

Donal Flynn is a great player and I feel very underappreciated for the work he does for Mohill. He has a strong running game but does not have the pace or fitness level to keep up with Nicholas McWeeney for the entire game. Eanna Madden would make most sense in this regard for me.

Mark Diffley done an excellent job on Keith Beirne last year so I don't see why they would change it. Great to have the option of Michael McWeeney to switch if it is not working. Which ever they go with, the other is a great option for direct running up and down the field.

Seen the semi-finals, honestly couldn't believe how reliant Mohill were on getting the ball to Keith Beirne. Reminded me of their neighbour's Eslin and their reliance on his cousin and name sake Conor. Several of the Mohill players were in a good position and maybe 30 yards out but didn't want to take on the shot. I know it's a game of chances and the probability of Keith scoring is higher that anyone else, but they have a lot of big name players in the forward line that have been around for years with ample of experience. I just don't understand it and I hate to see teams going so predictable. I think it stifles creativity and your basically telling players you have no confidence in their shooting ability. It's been encouraged throughout coaching now and I despair for the future of the game with the possession/odds based game versus the flair of the forwards from the past. I want/need to be entertained!!!

As far Carrick dominance, I wouldn't be so assured of. They are certainly reaping the rewards of good coaching and/or a good structure they put in considering their near dominance across many divisions but never in their history have they dominated at adult level so only time will tell.

Another factor I believe will play a part is the substitutes. I was very surprised that Mohill brought back on 2or even 3 players that they took off during the semi. Surely there is other players on the bench that are capable of making an impact. Cillian Canning to name 1, is he not still to be had? He was a good player and he's only 27/28 mark I'd say.

I hope for a good game Sunday but don't believe it will be and think it will be most frees conceded will ultimately decide the game.

Anyway, good luck to both teams and see ye all in Pairc Sean.

I have tried to post a couple of times, I am curious about people's opinions on choice of referee for Sunday,I think he is going to have a big bearing on the game. I was full sure Mick Mc Girl was going to get it.

Both decent refs, have nothing bad to say about either. Mcgirl has the inter semi on Saturday, you can't get them all.

Let's just say that I reckon both sets of management will be factoring that into their plans.
More than normal.

ref has the potential to make it all about him, so does Mick McGirl though.

Mohill for the win in a poor game i reckon.

What are peoples thoughts on the last time refereed between the two in final stage of round robin, apparently he was harsh on Carrick, personally I always think he doesn't do favourites.

No idea why mcmorrow got it . He's a terrible referee . He'll have a massive bearing on the game .

Potentially a great game but I agree, I think McMorrow has the potential to ruin the game. He likes to make it all about himself and with cameras on it, he surely would like the flair of the occasion and could let it get to his head. Hopefully not but I'm skeptical.

Was at the group game and would agree as a neutral, he was very harsh on some of the decisions against Carrick. Alot of clear fouls that were not penalised.

My only fault with McGirl is he's very by the book and should let the game flow abit more unfortunately "common sense" isn't in the rule book. Still a lot better then some of the refs in the county

Very poor crowd for a county final. Can it be much more than 2,000? TG4 coverage will knock a fair few off the attendance alright but the county board haven't helped by having no student (or OAP) concessions on a €20 ticket. Having a relatively small stand a third empty is not a good look on national TV.

Anyone blaming Andy Moran for the fortunes of Leitrim football is delusional. The standard of football on display by the two best teams in the county is deplorable. Both defences wide open. Standard of shooting shocking.

I have indeed looked outside was lovely day. You never said Sunday was going to be a good day. You said the weather seems to be playing ball. That was on Thursday and at that time it had rained form Tuesday and hardly stopped till Friday.
