Thought it wasn't injury related but not playing tonight it's now clear Ben O'Carroll is injured and probably won't play v Dublin at the weekend.

Daire Cregg outstanding in defeat won't be easy for him to line out again in three days again but hopefully he can bring tonights form into the rest of the year for Roscommon

Replying To ComainRos:  "Is Ben O'Carroll injured tonight? We badly need him for Saturdays game in Croker. Would be a sickener if he's unavailable. On a positive note Daire Cregg is the standout player tonight along with Dara Canavan in the Sigerson Cup"
While both Canavan brothers played exceptionally well for Ulster University tonight with Darragh winning man of the match, not sure what Daire Cregg could have done extra after kicking 9 points. What a performance. Roscommon has a gem of a player.

Congratulations to Ulster University tonight winning by a clear 6 points. The match however, was closer than that.

Two Canavans and Cregg were outstanding.. I had Cregg down for 11 points tonight but it was 10 he got I think. Cregg is a seriously gifted footballer reminds me of Shane Walsh at times. He's a joy to watch in full flow. Shame Ben was injured and it will be hard compete with the dubs without him as an outlet on Saturday. Our more experienced players need to up their game for Saturday or it will be a long evening for them

Is Eddie Nolan injured as well at the moment?

Like Ciarian Murtagh, Richard Hughes, Cian McKeon, Conor Daly he opted out due to overseas travels.

That went under the radar a bit. We are seriously light at midfield at the moment.

Unless I missed it don't think the local or national media reported on his departure. We are light all over and the mini break has resulted in more injuries on top of a lot of injuries we already had. The published team may confirm it or more likely wait until Saturday before throw in with the "late changes"

Fingers crossed we can still produce a competitive display on Saturday night with 20 plus available for selection.

I see Daire Cregg is trending on twitter. Outstanding for UCD last night. Great to see. Ben O'Carroll missing for UCD last night and he's also out of the Dublin match according to the Irish Independent quoting the Roscommon Herald.

Keith Doyle injured as well! We've taken a serious hammering over the past few weeks on the injury front. Great to see Hussey back. Best of luck to the team and management.

3 Brigid's lads named to start and Ben O'Carroll injured. It'll be interesting to see Shane Cunnane at midfield. Dublin need the points here having lost their opening two games. Let's hope for a good Roscommon performance this evening in Croke Park.

We are certainly up against it today due to the amount of injuries in the panel. While several of the younger players have played underage/club finals in Croke Park before, what an opportunity for the likes of Niall Higgins, Even Flynn, Eoin McCormack, Shane Cunnane, Ruiadhri Fallon and Daire Cregg and others to test themselves against the All Ireland champions in Croke Park. The best of luck to the management and team today.

Condolences to the family and the Dublin management, team and supporters on the sudden passing of Shane O' Hanlon.

I can't see us getting out of Croke park with less than a ten point hiding tonight.

Roscommon would have to perform very poorly for that to happen Having watched Dublin in the opening two games where they lost both and didn't look beating any team by 10 points.

Arrived in Croke Park. Daly and Cox togged. Fitzpatrick replaces Connolly. Tough battle ahead but a great test for the group. Dubs squad is strong, some serious options on the bench. Best of luck lads

A bit pessimistic there Ros2013. Hope ye win but I think ye'll stay within 3 points, plus or minus. Both teams playing the long game, aiming to peak towards the latter stages of championship.

After a shaky opening 10mins we are well in this game. Some lovely scores, fast moving ball is hard stop. Getting nothing off Hurson. Big 35 ahead

Good showing in the first but a big difference between us and the Dubs is they punish you for your mistakes and we wasted a few good attacking opportunities. Might not see the short term benefit but a great experience for a lot of lads from recent u20 teams. Enda and co would have loved to have got that chance when they made the transition to senior. Monaghan game now is massive.

In fairness Rossies not as wasteful as Dubs. Dublin 8 wides in first half alone, Rossies, was it just 1? , and I think that was an overview pass.
