Replying To WEX98:  "Genuine question: why would Henry Shefflin manage Galway?"
Why would Matty Kenny manage Dublin.?
Why would Darragh Egan manage Wexford ?
Or why did Davy manage us models?
Or Liam Cahill manage Waterford?
Why would Gleeson go to Antrim?
Why did Molumphy go to Kerry?
The list goes on and on.
The reasons are many and varied. Shefflin wanted a challenge. He wanted to manage a County team. He wasn't prepared to hang around and wait for Cody to call it a day.
Besides if he did wait there would be no guarantee that we would get the gig.

Replying To Viking66:  "Hopefully the lads might have bulked up a bit since last year. I think that's the single biggest difference between us and the top intercounty underage teams from watching the matches the last good few years. I dont think our lads are less skilful or that management is any worse. At underage alot can depend on what happens on the day. Even more so than senior. The players arent as experienced at reacting to what's happening on the pitch and management can only do so much from the sideline. They arent on the pitch at the end of the day."
We will soon know if we at the top table when we play clare in there own territory. How many times in the last twenty years have Clare knocked us out of the championship sure to god we need to stop this rot. I expect us to beat kerry and then really give clare a game hopefully we can do it on there own familiar ground this I feel would be a real boost to wexford hurling at the moment especially over 25 years in the all ireland championship outside the leinster championship.

Could you have another go and add some punctuation to help me understand?

So assuming Wexford beat Kerry how do you all feel about the chances v that Clare team? It would be a mammoth effort to get to that intensity for me. The good win v Kilkenny will be half the effort to reach the crescendo of today.
But then again, key players are back fit.
It will be good to have a Wexford/Clare match without a pantomime on the sideline. I hope the GAA see common sense and either have it in Thurles or in Croke Park as a double header.

Didn't know we would be playing Clare in Ennis if we beat Kerry. Is that factual or just speculation on your part. Usually wexford/ Clare championship games in the recent past went to Portlaoise. Why home venue for Clare.
Can't figure that one out.

I don't care where we play ye! I'd play ye in Wexford Park if it would stop ye having an excuse.

I think Wexford will really push Clare to the limit..that match today will take an awful lot out of Clare, and I think they might struggle to bring same intensity..if Clare bring same intensity and work rate of today they will win..

If Wexford and Cork come through the PQFs and Wexford beat Clare and Galway beat Cork then Galway will play Limerick as they can't face Kk again

Same for Clare if they beat Wexford - they will have to avoid Limerick as they have already played in the Munster Final

Kilkenny are in a very nice spot now as they can't face Limerick until a final

Potential semis
Clare v Kilkenny
Cork v Limerick

Clare v Kilkenny
Galway v Limerick

Wexford v Limerick
Cork v Kilkenny

Wexford v Kilkenny
Galway v Limerick

Wexford v Limerick
Cork v Kilkenny

Is Tony Kelly injured? Seems strange he didn't take the last few frees

I think it will be a double header in Thurles with Cork v Galway on Saturday 19th.

Be some day out to be fair

Clare are hoping it's just cramp. Even if he's not fit they will be very tough opposition for us or Kerry.

I don't think where it is will have any bearing on the result. We are unbeaten in championship games in Ennis.
If we beat Kerry and you play like you did yesterday you will likely win. If we play like we did the last day and you don't get up to the level you were at we have a good chance.

That would make sense. So it might not happen.

Its not rocket science samson ! The gaa have pencilled in 1 quarter for pairc ui caoimh and the other for Thurles so that means wexfords quarter will in pairc ui caoimh because cork will not be given home advantage. What I mean by clares territory is they live beside cork. Its easy to know samson you were not at the quarter v clare in pairc. ui caoime a few years ago where clare supporters outnumbered us 5/1.

It's around 6 hours travelling to Croke Park and back from here on a match day.

Here the start of it now. Like the team and management, we keep the heads down ignore the arrogance that coming our way from the clare lads both on here and the cr##p we have to listen too (if we be kerry) out and about. Drive on, all focus on kerry and try and get through that with a win and without injuries. Worry about the rest after it.
