Any word on who Darragh Egan is bringing into his backroom team? Has he drawn up any list of players now the club hurling championship is done for the year?

Fair play Viking for getting the show back on the road, we'll plough on I suppose. Heard rumours about Willie Cleary, Martin Byrne and Larry Murphy but after hearing the rumours about Willie Maher and then JJ not taking anything as signed off until there is an official announcement.

I'm sure there are rumours somewhere that Donoghue and Sheedy will be on the backroom team! Seriously though the backroom team is probably alot more important than ever it was before. Wonder will he have a sports psychologist on board?

Isn't Tommy Dunne part of the ticket aswell now. He's a good coach, coached Na Piarsaigh for abit.

So many rumours these days won't believe anything until there's official confirmation.

Tommy Dunne named on Colm Bonnars backroom team. So I guess he wont be assisting Darragh Egan!

According to the local paper Egan's backroom team hopefully finalised in the next week or so, other names mentioned were Adrian Fenlon and Sean Treacy, Galway man who was with Clare this year, has Wexford links as his wife is from St Annes area originally, was doing some coaching with them this year.he would know Egan has he has done coaching with Kiladangan. Sounds like Egan is keen to be bring in some young players into the mix.

U20 job still undecided with James Shiel and Keith Rossiter 2 names mentioned, young Michael Jacob and Roger Ennis over Horeswood expected to get the u17 gig, were joint managers of the u16 team this year.

I'm sure he will have new ideas. He was supposed to have been very progressive on and off the pitch while bringing Kiladangan up through the grades. Presumably he will have a few selectors. Fenlon was involved with the Rapps up til last year was he?

Fenlon was Skinner's right-hand-man with the Rapps.

He tended to be the more calm and collected one on the sideline. :)

James Sheil is the out going manager so not sure how he could be in contention again?

Obviously he's keen to stay in the role, hardly anything to crazy about it.

I'm sure he learnt something from this year. Apparently hes a good coach too. Why not give him another crack at it?

Absolutely not. He's had his chance.

One bad result where a fella and his panel took their eye off the ball shouldn't define his whole coaching career. While Kildare were surprisingly good and bigger than our lads too, we still should've kicked on and won that game by taking an easy point instead of trying to be too clever and butchering what looked to be a relatively simple goal chance.

Agree it shouldn't define his whole coaching career but his time with this group is up. An experienced man is now required to bring this group on and see can they reach their potential next year.

Hopefully the lads might have bulked up a bit since last year. I think that's the single biggest difference between us and the top intercounty underage teams from watching the matches the last good few years. I dont think our lads are less skilful or that management is any worse. At underage alot can depend on what happens on the day. Even more so than senior. The players arent as experienced at reacting to what's happening on the pitch and management can only do so much from the sideline. They arent on the pitch at the end of the day.
