I didn't want to say anything but glad to see neutrals think ref was very harsh on limerick, couldn't buy a free in 2nd half..maybe if umpires were as vigilant Peter wouldn't have have been so silly..huge loss in final..Waterford tried everything to get involved with limerick and thanks be to god more players didn't take the bait..another all Ireland final, great days to be from limerick..thanks to all with this fabulous team.. The GAA have made a joke out of A.I. semi's. They are no different than a qualifier. WD should have had 2 week minimum to prepare. I literally shut it off at half time, disgusted. maroondiesel (Mayo) - Posts: 1228 - 07/08/2021 19:44:22 2368581 Link 2 |
Was I wrong? Would you agree/admit the ref favoured you in the 2nd half, including the red? I wanted Waterford to win by the way. Suas Sios (None) - Posts: 1558 - 07/08/2021 19:48:21 2368584 Link 2 |
Yes, a 'hurler on the ditch' just like you and me, and anyone else who comments on here. What's your point.?

" but glad to see neutrals think ref was very harsh on limerick" Sorry CTGAA10, I must be missing something, but could you point me to all these 'neutrals' who think the ref was very harsh on Limerick?

Delighted for Limerick, they looked awesome at times. It actually looked like they had the extra man at times. Peter Casey was silly to do what he did, he shouldn't have rose to it. Bon (Kildare) - Posts: 2336 - 07/08/2021 20:09:41 2368592 Link 1 |
Well they would have had 2 weeks preparation time if there was no Covid! Every team knew before the championship started that if they didn't go through the front door they had very little chance of making the All Ireland final because of needing to play week after week. Cork though might yet prove the exception to the rule. PoolSturgeon (Galway) - Posts: 2022 - 07/08/2021 20:11:25 2368593 Link 1 |
There should be rewards for going through the front door .

Well cockney I'd be thinking Monaghan and Roscommon would be neutral,so I don't think we,re all wrong..Canuck thanks for the good wishes..I also think that Cahill May have erred a bit today..Waterford had limerick in trouble when they ran at us..however for periods of the 2nd half Waterford had retreated into their shell and cleared ball to unmarked limerick defenders..Waterford are a better team when they attack..I also think that a lot of weary Waterford legs for some of the match and subs didn't have same impact..if ye were playing anyone else today I'd support ye and I hope ye win a final in next year or 2 with that group..ye get de burca,Daly and possibly o mahonys back and ye are looking very strong.. 100% agree. They are not giving players a fair chance, just run it off for the sake of it! No consideration for players.

Well done Limerick. Serious team. They are getting better as the Championship goes on.. Ban (Westmeath) - Posts: 1468 - 07/08/2021 21:18:11 2368620 Link 1 |
Nothing wrong with schedule. Club players make up 98% of organisation. They deserve time too. Claretandblue (Westmeath) - Posts: 2162 - 07/08/2021 21:31:35 2368626 Link 2 |
In truth it was a very disappointing game. Aside from the first quarter the game was devoid of competitiveness in pretty much the same way as the Waterford Galway and Cork Dublin games were. Limerick were just too strong today. Hopefully tomorrow's game will live up to expectations. I'm looking forward to it.

Back when the provincial champions had "too much"time off people cried now the balance is in their favour and against the qualifiers and guess what people cry

All the semi finalists should've had 2 weeks preparation. Cork might be fresher as they had the 2 byes but I guess we will find out 2moro.

Not sure P Mahony would suit Waterfords current style

For sure. Its no1s fault but wouldve been a better game if Waterford had of had 2 weeks to prepare.

So your answer is to flog the players at the top level ?? Remember all but 4 counties could play club championship now on really. It's not fair on our top players to play 4 weeks in a row!

I agree WD should have had two weeks to prepare. However last year they got to the Munster Final, beat KK and had only one game two games then before and the result was almost exactly the same as today. They played some very strange tactics. There were times, especially in the second half, when they whipped balls into Limerick defence, only for not one but two or three LK backs standing all alone in the most splendid isolation, waiting to collect. They will have to look at that aspect of their game. BTW, I would to see Waterford win an All Ireland, but not at our expense.

Am delighted with the display by this Limerick team today,Waterford are still a great team but this Limerick team must be given great credit for their performances over the last few years and today. As a lifetime Limerick supporter I'm so glad that I have lived long enough to see this wonderful Limerick hurling team in action.
