Roscommon beat Mayo well that day in Hyde park 3-13 to 0-8. I remember a hand passed goal. They were allowed back then.

Best of luck to the team and management today. Looking forward to a good game of football and it'd be great to get the win but I think most important is that we put in a solid performance and have no injuries and see where that gets us. Ros Comain abú

When you guys play Gaelic football as it should be played, it's great game.

Hats off to both Galway n Roscommon; no losers in my opinion.

Some going by Conroy, but for me the best thing was to see Ultan Harney back, trimmed up and playing in mid-field. I remember him playing as a big, strong underage full-forward. And then he disappeared. I knew from my first time seeing him play that there was something good there.

Congratulations to players and management on today's win. Always great to win in Croke Park. Some great performances in every department. Great to see the Murtaghs back playing the football we know they're capable of. Eddie Nolan must be the find of the year also. Still lots to improve on and hopefully we can power into a Connacht final and be ready for Galway or Mayo.

Was looking for a competitive performance got that and to win another trophy in Croke Park is a nice bonus. Bench impact obviously made the difference but i thought the likes of D Smith, C Murtagh and Cathal Heneghan was among or stand outs.

Congratulations to the Roscommon players and management.

Well done. Deserving winners. Your finishing needs some work you should have had more goals , thankfully for us you didn't manage to take all your chances.

Our forwards are very good. Very few wides again today. We also appear to have tightened up at the back. Not sure Nolan is the answer at midfield. Roscommon definitely have plenty of reasons for hope going in to the championship.

Roscommon well deserving winners and to be honest from our point of view to only lose by 1 was not bad. Fear for both teams is the amount of scores conceded and even at that ros should have had another 2-3 and galway maybe another 1-4. Having said that good football in general and Mayo will have to do awful well to beat both

tightening up at the back is one issue i believe Roscommon will need to address before the championship on the evidence of today. Well done on the win fully deserved.

Well done the rossies today. Played in a positive way and a clear appetite to kick the ball when it was on and wanted to go forward all the time. Even at the end when they could have looked to manage the clock. It's a very nice brand of football and connacht is there for any of the big three there.

Hope you're right. He kicked two lovely frees but I didn't think he was that good in general play today. I'm not sure he'll be a top class inter county midfielder. Ultan Harney is going well. Hope he remains injury free. I could see Ronan Daly at midfield.

Connacht is there to be won for any of the three. Mayo were poor today. If we qualify, we'll be away in the Connacht Final. We haven't beaten Mayo in a Connacht Final in Castlebar since 1979.

Yes when talking about our stand out performers in this successful league campaign Nolan would be in the conversation. Has been around a few years but this year has been his breakthrough year and hopefully that form can be brought into the championship.

Best defences wins Connacht championship not past records and prior to 2019 Roscommon hadn't beaten Galway and Mayo away in one Connacht championship since i believe the 70s

1972. We beat Galway in a replay away and beat Mayo in Castlebar in an 8 goal Connacht Final. I was just pointing out the record which isn't good. Roscommon have scoring forwards which is needed to win matches. Mayo have failed in All Ireland Finals due to a lack of scoring forwards. I think we have a real chance to win Connacht this year.

Well done players and management, good performance, some excellent scores and good to see both Murtaghs flying and of course lovely to see a Ros captain getting a cup in Croker.
Now for the Championship....

Well done to players and management. Good day in Croke Park. 2nd half of second game was disappointing even though the match itself had a bit more intensity in it than our match.

Roscommon did well to win considering we were well beaten in midfield at times. Conroy scoring as much as he did is a bit of an overall false reflection of our midfield as he drifted between full forward and midfield. It was a very open game and it will be a different story come championship.

Thought Heneghan, Harney, Ciaran Murtagh, Donie Smith (2nd half) and Enda Smith at times did well. Diarmuid Murtagh off bench was excellent and it should give him confidence. Keith Doyle ultimately got the winning score. Both defences will have to tighten up and Galway have a few big weeks ahead if them if they are going to beat Mayo.

Heard Ross u20s played well v Dublin Thursday night in Kiltoom in first half but missed a lot. Apparently there was a lot of regulars missing for various reasons Thursday also. Anyone know what the team was or who was missing.

Great attacking display from both teams and brilliant to see that Roscommon team rising to the occassion instead of crumbling under pressure when Galway got their noses in front near the end..which could easily have happened in Croke Park. Along with the forwards Ultan Harney was just brilliant.

Defensively loose at times which needs addressing. I would worry about the kick outs. If we do meet Galway again or Mayo that needs to be sorted out. A lot of Galways scores seemed to come from pressure on the kick outs, in the first half at least. Second half we went longer more often, which is probably preferable than short one's going wrong but Galway started to dominate midfield until Doyle came on.
