Replying To The_analyser:  "Markievicz Park 6:30pm throw in for our Connacht U20 semi final against Sligo next Wednesday. Last nights Mayo v Galway match totally ruined by the weather and not helped by staging the game on the most exposed venue in Connacht and weren't allowed to hold it indoors in the Dome.

The winners of our semi final are due a home final against Mayo (They will overcome Leitrim) and Connacht GAA are planning to host the final in their centre outdoors again, I'd hope our or the Sligo county board stand up and get that final in Markievicz Park or Hyde PArk as it should be."
Hopefully that's just a copy/paste thing rather than a definite fixture.
Markievicz or Hyde would enable all interested to attend (and pay for ticket) while the bleak windswept prairie can hold 500.
Mr P will hardly forego €50/60k??

500 would be the seated capacity there. It can hold a few thousands outdoors.

Is it true Roscommon U20s has 7 or 8 likely starters nursing injuries for Wednesdays championship game against Sligo?

Sligo should be strong. Unlucky not to reach the final in minor level 2019. Lost the minor final 2020 and won Minor last year.

Looks that way alright, Cian Feely who was our first choice goalkeeper at Minor level 2019 is ruled out as is Ronan Garvin a U20 starter from last year, another starter from last year Darragh Heneghan just returned from a long term injury, may feature against Sligo but i doubt he'll be match fit to start.

Cian Glennon who missed the All-Ireland semi final and final last year hasn't had much luck with injury this year either. Paddy Gavin (Clann) Tomás Crean (Creggs) Cormac Regan (Oran) Sean Trundle (Brigids) all doubtful leaving us light on defensive options.

It is what it is and I'd hope the 15 that do start plus the 4 or 5 subs perform to the best of their abilities on Wednesday night.

Heard yesterday by one of the lads on the panel he was dropped. He said everyone was shocked and bit annoyed he was dropped as he was one of the better players on the team.

Few baffling omissions on the panel. Some serious strong lads dropped. Hope management knkw what they are at.

Maybe there should be a bit of trust in the management considering all the guff that was spouted about him last year. If players were dropped there's a reason behind it.

Yep, let's see what happens tomorrow night first.
Remember Sligo bet us at Minor in 2019 and 2021.

Shane Walsh left the panel in early March, doing his leaving cert this year and concentrating on that. Colm Neary the same but declined the invitation to join up with the panel for the league

Panel was 39 for the league and down to 33 now for the championship

Based on what The Analyser posted at 14.31 today, I think those comments are a bit unfair of the player, team mates and the management team. I think young players on the panel talk to each other and they know who is doing the leaving certificate and other examinations and who is injured etc.
Therefore I think that posted messages should be based on factual information and not on hear-say. Thanks to The Analyser for clarifying the situation.

Well after talking to plenty involved in the team and I'm not hear to make stuff up he was dropped from panel

2022 U20 panels be it Roscommon or anyone else would be mostly selected from the 2019, 2020 minors teams and any player that has impressed for their adult clubs in the senior championship.

Was Shane Walsh still a minor last year (2021)and has he played a championship match for Oran yet? The schedule of this competition in the middle of exams show the lack of respect HQ have for this grade.

What I said above is 100% true. He was dropped and nothing to do with him stepping away from panel for leaving cert.

Dont a bit of digging and he was infact dropped from the panel along with oran team mate michael staunton. Walsh played in orans league games impressing in both.

Hope the u20 go well tonight. Big game against a good sligo site. Best of luck to team and management

Not that it matters but I'm not hear to spread rumours or fake hear say story's. Seen the team for tonight. Injuries obviously nowhere near as bad as we all thought and looking forward to see how the two creggs get on in midfield. Best of luck to all involved tonight

Yes he was still minor last year none of our 2021 minors have made tonights 24.

If that team starts (a few lads face late fitness test) it will have a strong 2019 minor selection and a few from the 2020 (that group will be have a lot more starters next year)

I don't recall Darren,Quinn,Brian O'Hara Duggan,Jack Tumulty starting any game at minor championship level for Roscommon. A bit surprised to see Daire Cregg selected at midfield and Duggan a midfielder at wing half back. The team line outs compared to the starting teams tonight highlight how much in experiment mode we were during the league.

I'm expecting a competitive contest tonight against a strong Sligo outfit, the very best of luck to all the Roscommon players and management.

Looks like a fairly strong team tonight if the team play as selected. For those Roscommon & Sligo supporters who cannot get to the match, TG4 are showing/streaming it on You Tube @ Sport TG4. (bitly/3v9m3J9 I believe). They are also showing the other semi final between Mayo and Leitrim tonight.
The best of luck to all the players and the management team tonight.

Don't know what to say about that first half. We don't seem to have a defensive set up at all and our forwards are shooting form ridiculous areas of the pitch. It's was a strange first half. Sligo supporters the happier at half time

An utterly inept and poor performance by Roscommon U20s against Sligo. A shocking display of shooting. Best of luck to Sligo in the Final but Mayo won't be worried.
