No you can't and his Gaa performances had dipped massively last year as a result of all the Rugby. Was unbelievable for Brigids two years ago.

Yeah was so good at u20 in 2020 and that year for Brigids. Was expecting a lot more last year from him but unfortunately injuries didn't help. Mulooly is a big loss and I was surprised Colin Walsh didn't get more of a chance given our lack of backs. McCormick has surprised us all, limited on the ball but he knows when to give it off. Still think Hussey is our best option at 6 and Conor Daly at full back, Stack has been unbelievable but bar McGuigan and Hurley (maybe) he didn't play against any real class forward and Conor Daly is more of a physical presence. Murray could do with finding form as he is crucial also Niall Daly seems to have slowed down a small bit I have noticed but both lads have a lot of football played, hopefully they can do it for us on the big day when it matters like they have in the past.

I know you could go into infinity asking where different players have gone to but I was looking at a match programme from a few years ago and was wondering where Niall McInherney went to. Seemed to be another promising back and physical too. If you had him and/or Mullooly available it would give great depth to the panel. But you could lament that about a lot of past players on the Roscommon team.

Anyone have any issues with trying to buy good tickets for the league final?

Yea! All that seemed to be availble were the two lower flanks of the Hogan and one side of the Cusack. Were all the central areas really sold out since Tues? Then attempted to buy tickets on three occassions and all failed so gave up. Just went back on there and it worked. Bought two but not in a great spot.

Niall McInerney concentrated on his medical career if I recall correctly.
Junior doctor hospital hours don't leave time for present day County training schedules.

What issues are you having letsgetgoing? There's not much choice left. Plenty of areas rightly allocated to season ticket holders. I got one in 329 GG on Monday. The GAA.ie Ticketmaster site is a dream compared to Ticketmaster.ie though.

Became a doctor and doesn't have the time to commit.

Wasn't able to commit few years ago when finishing his final medical exams. Presume he is now qualified so been a doctor can't imagine it would be easy play County football.

That's fair enough, trainee doctor and football commitments don't really gel.

On the weekends game, good for McCormick, Hughes, Nolan and the likes to get a Croker experience at senior level. Big crowd as well with Mayo and Galway. Hard to know how many from Ros will go.

I have tried for the last three days and the only tickets that appear to be still on sale are very poor tickets in the very lower corners of the Hogan and Cusack stands on the lower level. There does not appear to be any better tickets available in the total ground that takes 82,000 people. Surely the GAA would not sell very poor tickets to long term supporters and then release much better tickets to late comers. Whatever happened to customer service?

Even though every shop in the country is open, the GAA ticket office on Dorset Street remains closed. Ticketmaster have closed all their shops/point of contact, and it is impossible to make contact with them.

I don't have a problem with season ticket holders getting good tickets (they deserve them) but the best tickets thereafter should be allocated on a first come - first served basis. It will be very interesting to see if better tickets will be released in the next few days? The upper stands for example. If that is the case, then the whole treatment of supporters is a joke.

Can't imagine any upper tiers will open, be very surprised if more than 25k are in attendance all at the one time.. especially if the weather is bad.. I for one won't fancy hanging around to listen to that vile "Mayo mayo mayo" Chant and hear more delusion about "mayo for sam"..

Well I definitely will be hanging around for second game. Should be a great game. Think the two games will be good open games. Let's be honest no set of supporters are easy listen to including ourselves.

Apart from one or two is basically Galways championship line up this weekend and Joyce and his team will be going all out to make sure they don't go into the Mayo match off the back of two defeats against us.

Haven't heard any word on our team yet. It needs a few fresh legs introduced into the starting 15 as this will be our 4th game in 4 weeks. Not saying they should all start but C Daly, C Hussey, K Doyle, S Cunnane, D Murtagh needs more minutes of action with the championship just around the corner.

Winning a trophy in Croke Park would be nice but it's one of those games where individual and collective performances will be more important.

No more than you having close to your championship team last Sunday. In fairness SW is one of our top 3 players and irreplaceable. Whatever about tomorrow we have little chance on April 24th if he is not involved.

TG4 are showing the highlights for 1980 in GAA Gold (Sunday) at 6.25pm. A good year for Roscommon football. Might be worth taping before hitting the road tomorrow.
Hopefully todays group of players will also generate their own bit of Roscommon GAA history over the next few years. Best of luck to all the team and management tomorrow.

1980. A good year for the Roses and the Rossies but could have been better. We should have won that Final against Kerry. That year's semi final v Armagh in August is the last time Roscommon won a senior championship match in Croke Park. Too long a wait. Let's hope we're building towards something good with this team. I think we are.
