When I said the Parma reunion just happened to be in the restaurant I had actually got a tip off from an old class buddy who now lives in Turin and he himself was a mad Juve and Roberto Baggio fan back in the day he used to have the rats tail hair style!! He said some of the World's legends are coming to Parma for a reunion. 2019 boom flight into Pisa train to Parma for a few nights then train to Florence as a birthday holiday! I was the James Horncastle of Ireland. katser (Galway) - Posts: 2475 - 19/06/2024 18:54:07 2553085 Link 1 |
The Monday Night Highlights on RTE started before the Channel 4 Sundays. Started in spring of 1990. Napoli won the league. Fantastic era. I loved Careca at Napoli and Skurhavy at Genoa. Great times. Lockjaw I put up up a message directed at you before about my book which I think would be up right your street. I'm not sure if you saw it. It's there with a link on the "Any Good GAA books thread".

Jeez I must check that out my man. I didn't see it in that thread, apologies. Yeah big Skurhavy was a handful. A great big target man striker. In Gazza's book he tells some great stories about his time at Lazio. Lockjaw (Donegal) - Posts: 9518 - 20/06/2024 09:34:15 2553121 Link 0 |

Thank you. It's all about the 80 s and 90s. Ah Serie A was amazing. Torino were a decent side too.

It was great to see Scotland play well last night, in another enthralling match, after their humiliation against Germany. They now know that a win against Hungary in their final game, will almost certainly mean that they'll qualify for the knock-out stage. Maradona with Napoli. Then you had A.C. Milan with Gullit, Van Basten, Rikjkaard, Maldini, Baresi, Ancelotti, Donadoni, Costacurta, Tassotti, Albertini. Arguably the greatest clubside ever. All internationals from Netherlands and Italy and half of them all time greats.

Well done by Kevin Doyle tonight on RTE panel. Only for his input it was pure banal bunkum. Who picks these ""pundits" - and presenters.?? Freethinker (Wicklow) - Posts: 1266 - 20/06/2024 22:13:24 2553277 Link 0 |
What do you make of RTE's coverage? bruffgael (Limerick) - Posts: 201 - 20/06/2024 22:55:48 2553285 Link 0 |
Gone to the dogs. Give me 2/3 players who have played international foot ball against decent teams. They can explain or at least be interesting . Kevin Doyle fits the bill, and Didier. They put a bit of passion and humour into it. People with a little passion, Like Keane on another channel. But they are the exceptions. I could almost suffer Brian Kerr. Not someone who looks as if they are reading it from a book or script. That Sadler would get on your goat. You'd think he had won a few medals. Yet, RTE seemingly love him. Down to fees maybe ? So, 2 out of 10 for me, and that's just for effort.

All consuming of RTE2 anyway.

I think the player that gave England the look of potential champs in 2021 was Raheem Sterling. He had a real menace and cutting edge about him in that tournament. This current Southgate 'rebuild' doesn't look like an upgrade on 2021 or 2022, but time will tell.

Pundits, and fans alike, are too quick to write off England's chances after 2, unbeaten, games. MesAmis (Dublin) - Posts: 13779 - 21/06/2024 10:26:43 2553335 Link 1 |
