Now there is a thought -- a European Championship in Gaelic Football and Hurling. Think Ireland would be unbackable favourites in both.

Would like to see Belgium win. Group stage -36 games to eliminate 8 teams. Dont think the lack of jeopardy will have any effect on attendances.

Ah come on CC, there is only one living member of the last England team that won a trophy yet they've been in a favourites shortlist for most tournaments they've played in since. If that's not the resume of serial bottlers I'm not sure what is. Who knows maybe is one is finally theirs, but the team suits an attacking style and their manager is hell bent on playing with the handbrake on so they'll likely still find a way to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.
