| I can't speak about RTE. But I don't bother listening to the pregame and half-time analysis on the BBC and ITV. And I've now started muting the commentary on most games because of the constant drivel spoken. Which is a shame, because I miss the crowd noise, atmosphere. | And after watching Spain play Italy last night i saw nothing that would make me change my mind they could have and should have scored 3 or 4 goals in that game Redhot (Cork) - Posts: 739 - 21/06/2024 12:39:48 2553381Link 0 |
Amazingly. The bookies have Spain as 4th! favourites, behind France, Germany and......England!!! :-). Cockney_Cat (UK) - Posts: 2866 - 21/06/2024 15:15:42 2553438Link 0

TV commentators don't come up for air these days. It's not radio. We can see the action. Let the pictures speak for themselves like Barry Davies or Jimmy McGee used to do. Malonemagic (Laois) - Posts: 817 - 21/06/2024 16:04:16 2553457Link 1

I'm hoping Turkey progress beyond the Group stage. Enjoyed watching their last game, especially 19 year Arda Guler. Big game tomorrow against Portugal. Cockney_Cat (UK) - Posts: 2866 - 21/06/2024 17:46:38 2553483Link 0

All this bellyaching about England is very boring. They've topped their group now, with all this tiresome yapping going on. Let's wait till they exit, and then put the boot in, if they're not going home as champs. Pope_Benedict (Galway) - Posts: 4457 - 25/06/2024 22:17:48 2554860Link 0

That's the end of them so :-) The whole business of Irish people who are besotted with "us" and "youse" suddenly deciding to hate the same people they watch on Sky for nine months is a bit schizophrenic. A form of compensation for the fact that in most other respects they are Little Englanders culturally. BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 3781 - 25/06/2024 23:11:55 2554871Link 1

England currently favourites on Betfair at 5.3 Suppose that reflects the fact the are on the other side of the draw from some of the heavyweights. edu (Mayo) - Posts: 118 - 26/06/2024 09:50:07 2554902Link 0
They are when Southgate sets them up like that anyway. Plenty of good footballers in that squad. GreenandRed (Mayo) - Posts: 8319 - 26/06/2024 10:02:40 2554904Link 1

Do you really have to repeat this every time somebody sets up a soccer thread or discussion? I think we all get it. You hate soccer and the people who follow it. Way to go Barney Rubble! SaffronDon (Antrim) - Posts: 2591 - 26/06/2024 13:33:51 2554963Link 2
