Replying To Doylerwex:  "I'm pretty sure it's decided we've the Munster runner up then Leinster winner.

So provided we get a result against Joe Mac runner up it's probably laois, Clare, Kilkenny.

No disrespect to any other competitors, just what I think is most likely."
I think Laois will beat Offaly tbh

Replying To Afinestick96:  "I could be wrong but If we cause a shock I would say it could be a draw for the semi finals if us and Cork win as there would be no repeat of provincial final. If Dublin/Kilkenny won they would face the Munster final winner and the winner of our quarter final would play Dublin/Kilkenny"
That's what I was thinking too. OTB podcast has it that the winner of our side of the draw QF, us or Laois/Offaly or Clare/Limerick, will play Leinster champions, but I've not seen that said anywhere officially.

I think Munster and Leinster Final repeat pairings are not allowed in the All Ireland Semi-finals and the Leinster champions cannot meet the Munster Champions in the semi Final either.

They absolutely could. There's not a whole lot between them but Offaly are on the cusp of something so would have a slight fancy for them.

I think this is the only draw that ensures that Provincial finalists or Provincial winners cant meet again until the final

Laois/ Offaly/ Wexford/ Clare/ Limerick V Kilkenny/ Dublin

Laois/ Offaly/Cork/ Dublin/ Kilkenny V LImerick/ Clare

So if we beat Clare - and Cork beat Dublin the GAA might make up some rubbish to ensure that we face Limerick to keep all the so called stronger teams in it.

I think we need to know the draw before the match is played (if it is played obviously)

Otherwise I think that the draw shown above ensures that finalists cant meet each other - so that could and should be it.

If they try change that we should object. The GAA need to call it before it happens so we aren't victim to some made up rule

That's it. But for talks sake if ourselves and Cork make the semi finals then there will be a draw to see who plays who, as I understand it. The only way there won't be a draw is if 1 or both losing provincial finalists make the semi final.

It won't be a made up rule. There will be a draw for the AISFs if it's needed.

It wouldn't be a shock to me if Offaly won. The game will take on a life of its own between those 2. I just think Laois have some better more experienced players right now.

Think he is good enough to be in our 26, maybe he's training with seniors already.

What Im saying Viking is there is no need for a draw for an AISF

The only clause is that provincial winners or finalists cant meet til the final.

What Im saying if (and I know I am being very optimistic here) the last four are Kilkenny, Limerick, Cork, Wexford. Kilkenny and Limerick cant face each other as the winners (if that happens) they might suddenly have a "draw" to fix the semis to the way they like to keep Munster teams apart.

Im saying we need to know what circumstances warrant a draw - befor e we play - coz I dont see any.

You obviously do

I think it will be a draw if us and Cork go through too. A lot of hurling to be played between now and then though. Would love the Dubs to win Leinster myself Cork and Kilkenny would be some battle in a quarter final

Or Laois/Offaly v Kilkenny?

Or Laois/Offaly v Kilkenny? Or if Laois beat Offaly and Cork, and Kilkenny win Leinster, then we get another Laois v Dublin game in the AI series.

I think there is no chance Cork will lose to Laois or Offaly to be honest

Credit to Wexford and the Wexford support on Sunday. The team gave it their all but Kilkenny cuteness and ability to manufacture frees (or dive....call it as you wish) got them over the line.
I think after the Antrim game, not going to Nowlan Park needing to stay up (like last year, no need for a drunken plea this year) was the #1 goal. #2 was to have the result in our hands. #3 was to qualify.
It is encouraging that on a day when Rory and Chin had (no disrespect) not such good outings that others stepped up. Conor McDonald looks like the Conor Mc we all know he can be. Cian Byrne also. Good performances across the field, but a few sloppy passes and bits of poor play were punished dearly.
We need to treat the next game with the level of respect Offaly or Laois deserve - absolutely none. And I mean that in a good way. We need to go out and treat them like we do Kilkenny, go full blooded for it and get the job done.
Credit to the Wexford support also, I would guess Wexford outnumbered Kilkenny 2-to-1. Need to keep that support going for the Laois/Offaly game and get ourselves to Thurles for the quarter final. I will be back in the land down under by then but hope the county get behind their team.
But this is where the Wexford county board come in. They need to promote the game, build hype, get it on billboards, social media, messages into clubs and schools. Children can convince their parents to go to any game, but no good if the children don't hardly know it is on.
Thurles is not that far and I know people in Victoria who travel to Melbourne every weekend to follow AFL teams. This is only once and if we get there, we're not in them every year.
Up Wexford.

Replying To ExiledInWex:  "I watched TSG back last night. That penalty decision was even more brutal having watched it back. Cody completely threw himself across the 3 players. It was not even a free. Waterford got a penalty v Clare that was no more a penalty than anything. TJ the same. Yet TSG pundits seem against the idea of calling the diving that is going on in every game out? Here no evil, see no evil?
Corner back union member here but why have referees decided that every corner back is a fouling hatchet man and that forwards are always being fouled once they hit the deck? This is the biggest value of 2 referees to the game. Closer to the decision, can see what actually is going on.
Its too much to put on one man any more."
Yeah, I agree here, Cody was a bit theatrical and made it look like Jippo had pulled him down by the back of his collar or had else squeezed the hurl around his neck, neither of which had actually happened

Tom Phelan did his best Swan Lake impression in the first half after a foul by Conor Foley down in the corner
