Replying To Fallout2:  "Minor hurling is in Thurles on Monday as a double header with other QF, time TBC"
Still not sure about that.

Replying To Purpleandgold72:  "But the one in the first half wasn't a pen either. Keoghan was clearly fouled outside the square but continued on until he fell inside the square, was obvious he was looking for a pen."
Matthew was the last man. It should've been a penalty and black card.

Replying To wexfordwin:  "Interesting to note the number of younger players emerging on the team with four players Under 22 starting last Sunday and I think 2/3 more on the bench. Corey Dunbar would be another if fit. Really positive."
Eoin whelan and Daire kehoe form this year's u20 will surely get their chance in the league next year along with Kyle scallan hopefully returning as well. Also Micheal dundon. Plenty to be positive about

They are all good hurlers to be fair. Dont want to put pressure on him but I think Eoin Whelan is good enough to be a championship starter next year.

He might be. We might have Foley and Carty back too. Cian Molloy and Michael Dundon hopefully will be fully fit. There's 4 other good backs. Hopefully we can get a few bigger young forwards along now.

See my reading of the rule is the player most be inside the 21 yard line ( doesn't matter if it is out by the corner flag) if it is an obvious denial of a goal scoring opportunity it's a penalty and black card.

The keoghan o Hanlon incident keoghan catches the ball outside the 21 and Matthew immediately fouls him here is the kicker the ref extended his hand to indicate advantage. Once advantage didn't accrue the ref must go back to the original foul where advantage was given in this case outside the 21.

It's all semantics really. While it hurts us I don't think we can blame the penalty etc for losing of the game. Drifting out of the game from 25th to 55th minute is what caught us.

But I believe you learn as much if not more in defeat. And we learnt alot on Sunday we scored 2-20 with arguably our top two forwards off colour. We fought to the bitter end. Three of our youngsters in E.Ryan, C. Foley and C. Byrne were outstanding.

After Antrim I came on bemoaning our lack of identity, lack of game plan, trying the same thing over and over which had already failed. I was clearly wrong. And those lads on the last 3 matches would make you proud to be from wexford

That's one thing we are lacking . Tucker Kinsella is the only lad coming through with size they may make an impact next year

There ya go. Let's stop blaming a ref decision for this loss. It was ghr middle third lull that got us. We saw it to some extent in Carlow game too.

You'd need savage physicality and conditioning to keep going and evidently wr might not have it yet. Credit to the lads fhey recovered well on Sunday tho. It looked like we were on to a hiding at one stage but we showed heart and work rate. We need it for 75 mins tho

Tuckers not exactly a giant either. He's adding a bit of physicality to his game this year which is very encouraging though. He's a great striker of a ball in a tight space too.

Ah I get you I thought it was inside the 21 outside the edge of the large rectangle. I was in the old stand so it was the other side of the pitch from me.

I watched TSG back last night. That penalty decision was even more brutal having watched it back. Cody completely threw himself across the 3 players. It was not even a free. Waterford got a penalty v Clare that was no more a penalty than anything. TJ the same. Yet TSG pundits seem against the idea of calling the diving that is going on in every game out? Here no evil, see no evil?
Corner back union member here but why have referees decided that every corner back is a fouling hatchet man and that forwards are always being fouled once they hit the deck? This is the biggest value of 2 referees to the game. Closer to the decision, can see what actually is going on.
Its too much to put on one man any more.

Watched over the game again. We completely drifted out of the game from the 30th minute to the 55th minute. We wont win any big championship game doing that. With the wind we went away from what was serving us well playing the ball through the lines and long balls to the corners in the first half to hitting everything on their half back line in the first 20 minutes of the second half. Jacko's physicality and size made a difference when he came on he is a must start if fit for me. Our tackling was high at times . Dont think Jippo needed to go in high on Cody when Damien and Shane Reck were standing in front of Cody. We need to work on our tackling over the next few weeks. We were out fought in the middle third from 30th to 55th minute. I think we need Hearne and Lawlor to completely empty the tank here and then bring on Dee O and Kevin Foley to finish the game. Our half forward line needs to work harder when not in possession too their half back line wasnt under enough pressure coming out with ball and it allowed them to pick out TJ and Cody with ease. Overall im positive on the progress we've made. I expect the lads will be taking it easy in training this week to recover after a tough round robin. Then next week we can tear into getting ready for the All Ireland Series. We need to a similar focused performance as the Carlow game and then throw the kitchen sink at Clare/Limerick. If our backs can be solid and improve on their tackling technique, Mac and Cian continue their good form and we get a bit more from Chin and ROC we can definitely cause a shock in the quarter final

If only a referee would take that attitude to Conor Mac up front. Probably the most fouled player in Ireland and never gets a free

Is it decided which side of the draw we are on if we get through the quarter final.

Will we face Leinster final winner or Munster or will that be decided after? I suppose they will need to avoid provincial finalists meeting

Nah, O'Hanlon did foul him and was lucky he didn't get a yellow for it. Cody was changing direction and O'Hanlons right arm caught him around the head, now Cody was ducking at the time but a free all day.

I'm pretty sure it's decided we've the Munster runner up then Leinster winner.

So provided we get a result against Joe Mac runner up it's probably laois, Clare, Kilkenny.

No disrespect to any other competitors, just what I think is most likely.

I could be wrong but If we cause a shock I would say it could be a draw for the semi finals if us and Cork win as there would be no repeat of provincial final. If Dublin/Kilkenny won they would face the Munster final winner and the winner of our quarter final would play Dublin/Kilkenny

I hope that is the case . IF we can do the business over Laois there is a huge prize on offer for us if we get over Clare
