He played very well until he started tiring. If it was me I'd start him. If we are going to let Chin and Rory roam then I'd start Mac inside also. No real point starting Casey or Byrne if you aren't going to play ball into them, or make space for them to operate in. Maybe start Mikie as the withdrawn inside forward as he'd work harder more consistently over the 70 minutes than Dunbar. Could put in Devitt instead of Dooley for his distribution, but then again Dooley always seems to improve the more games he gets under his belt. Likewise Mogie. So I'd go- Fanning Murphy, C Foley, S Reck MOH, DReck, Donohue K Foley, Hearne Jacko, Chin, Mogie ROC, Mac, Dwyer. If we are going to set up/play like we did in the League, and tell the half forwards and withdrawn inside forward to play as close to the opponents 65 as possible and hold that line until the ball goes inside then I'd go- Fanning Donohue, C Foley, S Reck MOH, D Reck, Devitt K Foley, Hearne Jacko, Chin, Mogie Rory, Casey, Dwyer Devitt and MOH are our 2 best distributors forwards, along with Kevin Foley. That's working with the 26 as picked. Viking66 (Wexford) - Posts: 15421 - 26/04/2024 16:24:25 2540791 Link 0 |
Really really hope we've learnt our lesson now regarding the high ball in to the square, remember last year Antrim going route one towards the end and it nearly yielded goals and I'm fairly sure OHanlon was on the edge of the square there, think we'll win by 4 or 5. Teams are under pressure to publish a team earlier in the week so we could see changes with a lot of teams over the weekend. Last weekend felt like a loss but the important thing is it wasnt a loss. Dublin are wexfords bogey team the same wexford are kk and dublin have a decent record against galway. Nothing can be done now that game was over sunday evening and attention turns to antrim. As others have said theres no point dreaming about a leinster final if antrim cant be beaten no matter where its played. Id expect wexford to get the job done and comfortably in the end. I was told antrim were wreckless when the game got away from them. Kk lost 4 players through injury and they rushed tj off early before they went after him. The ref has a job sunday to protect the players. Lee and rory could get special treatment. Im sure rossi will have the ref well warned and the players will know what happened last weekend The minors are at home to kk. The underage teams this year are slow to get going but round robin is round robin, its all about later in the year. The minors were unlucky not to get something last week. They will know a good few kk lads and will want to get stuck into them early. Kk had a big win last week i was suprised with gakway. Kk seem to be getting underage right and have some very good players coming through. Do wexford get blue prints off different counties regarding structures.i remember when kk were dominant alot of counties followed and passed them out. Kk underage has being desperate the last 15 years. Its so important having things right underage. Slowandshortsighted (UK) - Posts: 51 - 26/04/2024 23:24:37 2540820 Link 0 |
Martin's actually covers White rock hill. There's about 6 massive estates up there. Harriers pitch is technically barntown. Martin's again stand to gain massively on the housing plan around the loreto Doylerwex (Wexford) - Posts: 3502 - 27/04/2024 08:57:24 2540845 Link 0 |

Some evidence please for your assertion about Antrim targeting players for injury.

Big numbers are of zero value when a club is clueless and coaching is crap.

Minors up by 9 at half time against Kilkenny. Hopefully they can see it out to kick off a good weekend for Wexford hurling. Fulgrim (Wexford) - Posts: 263 - 27/04/2024 13:45:30 2540883 Link 0 |

Mac has already done enough with two touches to show he's worth his place in the team Doylerwex (Wexford) - Posts: 3502 - 27/04/2024 15:18:54 2540898 Link 0 |
Silly yellow for Rory O Connor, that puts him out for next week. Cian Byrne worth his place so far, getting in more ball than O Connor and Mac combined and a few scores too. If it wasn't for Chin again we'd be screwed WEXILE (Wexford) - Posts: 342 - 27/04/2024 15:41:23 2540902 Link 0 |
Seriously? Think he will be fortunate not to be hooked at half time. Antrim obviously much improved and Chin is carrying us again. Cian Byrne has been sharp too. The amount of times our lads lose possession on the run, unable to break a tackle or with a poor touch/pass in unreal. I'd probably bring Lawlor and Casey back in at the break for Hearne and Mac. And then follows it up with 2 bad wides in quick succession at a time when we needed a score. Once again, only for the magnificent Lee Chin, we'd be in serious trouble here against Antrim. Cian Byrne doing well but the other forwards are not contributing much. Dunbar only touched the ball once. This could be a difficult second half.

Dunbar and Rory have been brutal so far and Kevin Foley not much better, one handed passes to nobody! Big second half coming up here.
