Tickets sold out for Dr Cullen Park tomorrow . Can never remember as much hype about a final at this grade in a long time . Hopefully our lads can keep their cool and rise to the occasion

Replying To TerribleFootwork:  "Sounds like Damien won't make Sunday, team I'd go with in that scenario.

Lawlor

S Reck
Ryan
Devitt

Donohoe
O'Hanlon
Carty

K Foley
Dunbar

Jacko
Chin
O Foley

ROC
Conor Mc
Liam Og

If Ryan doesn't make it bring in Dee drop Kevin Foley to HB line, O'Hanlon at Full back, if Chin isn't ready any of Hearne, McGuckin or Richie Lawlor."
I'd give Chin and Ryan the night off anyway, this craic of playing injured or half fit players has to end. Options at the back are limited but pick lads in their best position, show a bit of faith in them and should be rewarded by a comfortable win.

Lawlor, Reck, Hanlon, Donohue, Carty, Devitt, Joe O'Connor, K Foley, McGovern, Jacko, Rory, O Foley, Dunbar, Mac, Lawlor.

I'd say Offaly will have the majority of the support, best of luck to the lads hopefully they'll fulfil their potential tomorrow night.

Replying To Magpie2:  "Why would you not play Dee TerribleFootwork. Big mistake not starting or even bringing him on when Jippo and Reck hobbled off. I know we should beat Westmeath with something to spare but we tend to struggle against lower rated teams. We simply must win this match and win well. Would agree with most of your team selection but I would play Dee instead of Carty. Of course ongoing injuries if they still exist will force Egan to switch positions and personnel.
Verdict-- wexford to win by 11 points."
Well I don't think wholesale changes are required from the Dublin game, we left that game behind rather than got outplayed, Kevin Foley and Dunbar were arguably the 2 best performers so neither merit been dropped, think the team I picked is well balanced and as I said if any of the backs or midfielders are unavailable he's the 1st fella in. He can have a big role the next 2 weeks weather he's starting or not.

I wouldn't risk Ryan chin or reck. Even without these lads we should have enough to beat Westmeath, no disrespect to Westmeath. Need to save them for a massive game against Kilkenny. Good luck to the under 20s tonight. It would be fantastic to win a Leinster final and play in the all Ireland final but Offaly will be no push over. Good team and a good few have the experience of getting to the minor final last year.

If Chin and Ryan aren't fully fit that would be the team to go with.

Offaly would still be favourites for me. Although PP has it evens for both.

Wexford supporters have no excuse not to travel and get behind the under 20s tonight. Carlow is in and around an hour up the road for most of us in the north of the county

Any tickets going lads?
My circumstances for this evening have worked in my favour and now I'm in a position to attend. Obviously it's a sell out but I'll chance heading to Carlow for this evening and see if I can pick one up somewhere. If I can source one before I make the journey then all the better.

Absolutely but this Offaly team at u17 and now u20 are getting bigger crowds then their senior team.

It's only around an hour from Taghmon as well. Hopefully we have a good crowd up there. I know there are a good few from our club going up.

Circumstances that work in our favour for tonight:

Offaly have had all their games at home this is Wexford's 5th game on the road this season
5 Offaly starters played minor last year so are quite young
Nearly all of the Wexford panel play senior club hurling this is not the case for Offaly
This Wexford team have played in U20 Leinster final last year
Their starting full back is injured and wont play

A couple or more of their best players who missed most or all of the semi final are likely starters tonight though. They beat Dublin and Galway. We have some lads out of minor too. Their minor team last year were exceptional.
All to play for and hope we win. Still think we are the underdogs again, like the last day!

Westmeath have played both losing 2-22 to 1-17 to Offaly and 3-13 to 3-17 v Wexford.I was at both and felt we had better chances against you guys but that was in Mullingar.

We were done out of that.

For the offaly lads to be that cynical at this grade is quite shocking.

There's the big hope for the year gone.

On another note, there are two serious players in that offaly team

As sickening a final defeat as any in recent memory. It was there for the taking when we pulled level and I thought history was repeating itself from last week. In hindsight, we probably should have taken that point chance rather than going for the late goal, and a couple of rookie mistakes (they happen at this level) thereafter sealed our fate.

Without sounding like an old schooler, I don't understand why we didn't go long a few times playing with the extra man. O'Hagan showed his aerial prowess in particular last week, Farrell is a big unit too, and surely Offaly are still spooked by the concession of that late goal in last year's minor final. In the end, the game's only goal chance went their way, and what a finish from Screeney- there is no shame getting picked apart by him as he looks a serious talent.

I thought Simon Roche was immense for us, mopped up a mountain of ball. Cian Byrne was obviously outstanding as well (one of the best losing performances from a Wexford player in ages)- he has to be fast-tracked into the senior set-up now if at all possible. Some of our other more prominent names weren't as good tonight but you can't fault anyone's application either. Felt Offaly got one or two 50-50 calls in their favour as well (was that a free on Screeney in the end? Not sure), but we got one or two softish frees as well.

Disappointing end for an otherwise talented crop of chaps though. Pride is restored in the jersey.

Absolutely gutted to lose to a 14 man Offaly.
Why wasn't JJ Twamley brought on? Same old story. Different team same result. Lose lose lose every year - we always think this year will be different and it never is. Poor tactics from the line did not use the extra man well. We threw it away as it was there for the taking if we kept cool heads

Disappointing result tonight when every chance to bring home a trophy. Really lost composure at critical stages down the stretch, Cillian Byrne passing instead of taking his point, Foley guilty of overplaying, Whelan sitting on ball, Carley silly foul....that's all with an extra man. Offaly also missed a couple of handy frees. So we didn't adapt well to the extra man. Some of the players who were outstanding v KK had little impact. Offaly did well there. Murphy was very selfish again and thought Pepper should have come on a lot sooner.

Some positives of course, the Byrne brothers were excellent, Cian best player by a distance on the pitch I thought. Roche and Whelan bar late mistake very good again. Rowley battled hard but thought our HB line and midfield were second best really.
