My view on the ROD stamp is it's not acceptable and if he was banned we could have little complaint but he has not been. Same as the Cork player the week before where his closed fist his on Jack Carneys head (even more dangerous) got little attention or outcry.
A Kerry player "took out" a Cork man in an all Ireland final early on a few years ago. The "dark arts" as they are called have always been around. Incidents happen in games and off the ball. I'm not sure it's anything new but obviously does not make it right.
I've seen some horrid hits and incidents in club games down the years.
I think Branding an entire team or county "thugs" over the actions of one player in one game is over the top. As for being "liked" I couldn't care less of the entire country is hoping we lose against Dublin.

Massive win for Mayo, nervy tight game, lacked in quality but all was expected with the pressure on the game and the weather conditions.
Both teams played badly and result could have gone either way. I feel Galway lost the game in the first half with the wides they kicked, esp the frees missed.
K Mcloughlin was very effective in the first half, great call and tactic to start him, Galway didnt know what to do with him.
Kickouts were a disaster, not all Reapes fault, Mayo were poor aerially and on breaks.
Huge difference from the Cork game was Mayos midfield, Flynn and Diarmuid O Connor, workrate and turnovers were huge and probably difference in winning and losing that game.
Eoghan McLoughlin what a frustrating player, great athlete, strong and has pace, great work rate tackled and won some good turnovers, but again his football skills, shooting and soloing keep letting him down.
Defensively Mayo were very good, Coyne Callinan and McBrien look like players that have been playing there for years, have all really impressed. Forwards played better than the last few games, confidence should improve now and more space in Croke Park should suit them.
Getting through that tough game with a win should be a good boost to the confidence for alot of the players.
The Ryan O Donoghue situation, everyone hates to see this stuff, he shouldnt have done the kickout he did, the shoulder he gave is normal enough in a game but would he have done the kick if Kelly hadnt an injured ankle, no he wouldnt have. I hate that this stuff is just accepted as part of the game now, it goes on in all games, and GAA have let it creep in and let it be the norm, this weekend there will be alot more off the ball hits and digs and nothing done. There was plenty of other off the ball stuff from both sides that would be considered cowardly, if Ryan is going to be accused of it then others can be too, including Kelly who is no angel on the field.

I cant agree on the stamping. We will see belts and sly digs this weekend, but nothing as disgusting as that. Sean Kelly is a very clean player and I've never seen him doing a sly dig. Yes he did appear to feign injury on one occasion , which is not commendable , and which I was very surprised with, , but its not in the same league as what we saw in salthill on Sunday.

Good to see some decent posters on here who accept O'Donoghue was well out of order. Flynn went too kick him too although he was deliberately looking for his injured ankle but if the ref or linesman seen it he'd be sent to the line.
Mayo have more then a chance this weekend.

Mayo deserve to get over the line at some stage tbh.
I could be wrong but I think the winners face the winners of Derry v Cork in the Semi Final on Sun 16th July.
Think Derry will be too strong for Cork unfortunately.
Anyway, should be some game this weekend. A Sell Out so it will be a great atmosphere also.

Galway have only ourselves to blame and a small bit of hard luck with injuries but that's sport and we'll take the rough with the smooth. May the best team win." Indeed May the best team on the day win. It's very hard to know where both teams are. Dublin have not been tested bar Roscommon but then again hammered Louth (which we couldn't do) and Sligo.
Mayo have played some brilliant football v Kerry and for a quarter against Galway. We will need to replicate that for 50mins plus if we have any chance Sunday.
Mayo v Dublin games tend to take on a life of their own so all previous form could go out the window. Man on man open football game is what I'm hoping for and see if we are good enough, if not so be it.
I didn't hold out much hope in McStays first year especially after loosing Keegan (our best player last year) and Oisin Mullin but league champions and a quarter final appearance is a decent season. That said it appears to be an open year in terms of the number of teams that can win it so there is an opportunity there…
Up Mayo and safe traveling to all supporters this weekend.
