Replying To Greengrass:  "Meltdown is harsh on The Martins."
Meltdown probably best describes it along with poor management decisions and indicipline. One point in 30 minutes plus the long injury time is not a good return. Ref can get the blame but overall his decisions probably balanced out, Ardee should have had a penalty for a lift ball in the first half thats not mentioned. Martins have had a great last 5-6 years and hopefully they can keep it up and not drop back with their efforts

I've spoken to many people about the game. Not one mentioned a lift ball. If you looked at the game on LúTV you'll see Ardee got way more scorable frees than the Martins. I'm not sure what management decisions you would question but you are correct when you talk about indiscipline. The timekeeping is controversial but the decision not to award Conor Whelan a free at the end was blatantly wrong.

Of course they got more scoreable frees, if you only try to play for one half your going to get less scorable frees. martins tactics in the first half was to sit back and get Ardee on the counter which was very good and worked well, second half they didnt try to attack when they sat back. ardee entered the opposite 45 way more times than the jocks which will result in more frees. You are correct it was a free for C Whelan but both commentators on LuTV mentioned jocks got away with the penalty claim in the first half and a major bug bearer of mine is once its not in the last 5 minutes these calls arent mentioned or seem irrelevant, it happens all over the country every week and in county games. Jocks thought they done enough in the first half and tried to contain the lead and got caught out.

Yeah, might not be a big achievement for other clubs but you got to take into consideration the Tones failed to field for half the league in 2014 and contemplated folding at Adult level. They also got relegated down to division 5 and 6, so to see them in 3a as a club man I am delighted. Good group of players there at the moment, hopefully they can keep improving.

Delighted for you as a clubman and a club. I do remember those relegations and non fielding's so its great to see them progressing. There's a memorial to Naomh Mhuire in the graveyard up in Bryanstown and no body wants to see any club fold in the county.
Its been tough times for a lot of the Junior clubs in Louth over the past 10 - 15 years but their resilience to keep going has to be admired and there's been a general increase in quality and improvements. Long may it continue. Lookig forward to see how WT's get on in 3A

An excellent senior final, especially given the conditions. Referee helped the spectacle also. Delighted to get to see both teams playing again next week.

Was in the Independant today. Now only approximately 2-3million shy of the estimated cost. Was a very different way of finding funds. Genius if am honest.

Good draw for us in the Leinster championship, Westmeath up first and if we play to our strengths can win. Who knows after that, we must realistically have ambitions to get to a Leinster final with Dublin and Kildare on other side of the draw....

Well done to the Marys who after 27 long years win a senior Championship. It was great to see Ronan Carroll and Darren Clarke finally get their hands on Joe. Also congrats to Cooley and Stabannon on winning their respected championships.

What a great draw for the Wee County in Leinster next year. This is a great chance to get to a Leinster final. Louth and Westmeath are always close. Where will this match be played? Mulingar? Navan?
