Are you sure this is true I never heard this. There seems to be too much wrangling between clubs say if this is right. Take killybegs and n ultan for example there's rows every year about boundaries as is between eunans and the gaels. If your opinion is right and I don't doubt you sure if you let your kid play for the club you want at u 12 then boundaries don't come into it when they play senior. Interesting.

Maghery is heavenly on a fine Summers day , cycled that coastal route one Summer years ago. Quick question re Dungloe CLG when they were a force winning 7 county titles up to late 50s …. did they have the pick of the Rosses back then I.e. region now occupied by Naomh Muire, Dungloe and Na Rossa. Thank you.

I was told by a work colleague who hails from that end of the county that another neighbouring club (not Killybegs) objected to Michael Hegarty's transfer from Kilcar even though Kilcar gave it their blessing. Given his age I'm not sure what the point of it was.

Now that the club season is nearly over , I'm sure the county lads will be getting back into the swing of things soon. Any word on potential call ups? Has the backroom team been expanded? Are Saint Eunan and mc cuhaills players back? Is Michael making a return ? Did the lads who stepped away last year back this year ? Yeah I'm sure as I was part of a club committee dealing with this. There was a county board boundaries committee set up. All clubs were give a map of their old boundaries and the proposed new boundaries(most of which never changed). There were meetings with all clubs with disputed boundaries, to find common ground. This hasn't been agreed by County or Croke park, so at the min there are no boundaries and as such you can play with any club before U12. Once your first club is established, thats your club

What year are we talking about here. I mean the county boundaries committee and we're all clubs informed of this. It's the first I heard of it and I was involved heavily back in the day.

As a supporter of the club the said Naomh Conaill man lives in, I don't think there was ever an issue with this, as we knew he wanted to play for NC. His father is a club stalwart and it is not hard to see why he wanted to see his son play for that club. ballboy101 (Donegal) - Posts: 225 - 13/10/2023 18:43:18 2508256 Link 0 |
Heard McFadden ferry was contacted by Jim to come back from Australia, he did, but apparently has done his ACL now so won't be involved . Apparently Langan was planning a few months travel and Jim contacted him and he'll be staying around. Daire o'baoill back in gweedore for end of championship after a call from Jim to come home early.

Been at a fair few Na Rossa games this year and also a few Moville games. Definitely see Na Rossa as favourites with the caliber of player they have, but I know that Moville up until this year pretty much have almost always had Na Rossa's number so definitely would not be ruling them out. Would imagine Jim will probably be at the game because up and down from senior to junior championships I feel there are players in all areas that he will be taking an interest in. For Na Rossa , Aidan McHugh is a serious operator. I believe he is only 21/22 and is a huge man for his age, can kick off both feet and is a serious tackler for a full forward. Oisin Caulfied and Cillian Bonner could be candidates for a development squad kind of set up as they are still both a little light but have serious talent. On the Moville end, I know Ciaran Diver has been in before and couldn't quite make the grade but has been immense any time I have seen him this year, Dylan Doherty in goals i think is well up there in the top 3/4 keepers outside of Patton also. Overall think Na Rossa will edge it but will be extremely close. The intermediate final will be a real humdinger. I know it is always said of this championship but it really is unbelievable how close the teams are in the Intermediate and I can see this game being no different. Both semi finals went to extra time and the play-off meeting between this pair last year also did and could definitely see a draw being on the cards again here. Lorcan Connor , Johnny and Keelan McGroddy are serious movers for downings where Josh Conlon and Benny Fildara could be the difference makers for Malin. Can really see this going either way and if I had to call it I think I'd go for a draw. Be great to see big crowds at both and hopefully can be a good advertisement for Donegal football in what I think has been a very good championship at all levels despite the negativity we can see on here and in the media at times. donegalforsam11 (Donegal) - Posts: 104 - 14/10/2023 06:41:55 2508299 Link 1 |
McFadden Ferry was contacted by Jim just as he was departing to Australia but opted to travel instead of joining the squad, he actually got injured in Australia.

Fair play to Na Rossa, were on the brink of extinction a few years ago. Put in the hard work with a small number of people and reaped their rewards today. Leitir will be lively for a few days. peiledoir20 (Donegal) - Posts: 1071 - 14/10/2023 19:48:18 2508374 Link 2 |

Fair dues na rossa was at the game, great atmosphere big na rossa support. Great to see bonner win another championship. Really impressed by his young lad cillian, huge potential but from talking to a few na rossa lads he's heading back to the nfl.. must say I felt for moville they were within minutes of winning it.

Yeah a very enjoyable game and great noise in the stands from both sets of supporters. I just got the sense that Moville were content to hang on to their lead rather than tack on another score or two, which is always a dangerous game. Diver had a glorious goal chance in the 2nd half then Na Rossa full back made a match winning block from the Moville sub. Fine margins. I expect the Intermediate final to be just as close today and I'm looking forwarding to heading to ODP later for more of the same hopefully. You can't beat club football. peiledoir20 (Donegal) - Posts: 1071 - 15/10/2023 12:54:46 2508437 Link 0 |
Correct me if I am wrong, but there isn't even a search option to look for things, Tyrone for example have one.
