What are your predictions? It's early days but I think Killoe are the clear favourites, unfortunately they have been very impressive to date with a lot of players to add to it. They look to have the hunger again after two disappointing years by their recent standards. I think the quarter finals will be Killoe v Granard, Mullinalaghta v Clonguish, Colmcille v Slashers and Abbeylara v Dromard. Killoe, Mullinalaghta, Colmcille and Dromard to come through and Killoe to win it out. Ballymahon will get relegated. Kenagh look good for intermediate and Grattans to get relegated. Colmcille not motoring yet in league (only 2 played tho) but will still fancy their chances of retaining the title for the first time, and that should be a motivator. Them and Killoe might benefit from those Leinster League games. Hard to see past Slashers, Killoe, Colmcille and Mullinalaghta for last 4. Listened with interest to the Draws on radio. Colmcille as holders know how to win and by the sounds of them both at the draw and talking to people close to the team they expect to be even stronger than last year when all injured players return and is Alan McKeon ( their best player in 2021) coming back? If so they certainly will be hard beaten given the confidence that winning brings. Killoe with Dempsey led management and virtually every one of their top 25 having underage county experience (at least) are obviously favourites. Mullinaghta (4 times champions also in the last 8yrs) will be very determined to get one more out of this team and must still be wondering how they let victory slip in last years county final. Abbey have always flattered to deceive in the last 10 years but could they emerge from the shadows? Unlikely imo. Slashers have always been able to produce a good team and with Liam Keenan I presume staying on should have that extra bit of steel added to their game which seems to have been lacking lately but again I think they will need another year but could make semis. Overall Killoe's to lose but hopefully the holders can hold on.

Mullinalaghta did not let victory slip, they were robbed by one of the worst decisions ever seen in Pearse Park. They should be hungry to reverse that but I think their race is run as a force

Interesting point but a lot of observers seemed to believe they should have been further ahead and that the penalty should not have mattered. It still had to be scored and Fair play to young Harkin who handled the pressure so well. Also Mullinaghta had a kick out and were unable to work ball down the field after the penalty, was it Barry Mckeon who scored a free even after the penalty. Wow. According to this forum Killoe are firm favourites for the championship. Surprising given that we finished 4th in Group 1 of the league last year, lost 3 and drew 1 in last years Championship which Dromard put us out of in QF, lost 2 and drew 1 in the previous years Championship which Mullinalaghta put us out of in semi-final, and we haven't won a senior title of note since 2020. Meanwhile in the past 2 years Colmcille won a Senior Championship and ACFL while Mullinalaghta won a Senior Championship, ACFL and 2 Leader Cups. Things can change quickly in GAA and you are understandably eager to play down your chances. Killoe were poor last year but there was trouble in the camp and the new management has given the team a new lease of life. Killoe are flying without the county players, I witnessed it first hand. Chalk and cheese in less than 12 months. They also possess the most talented players of any club that are currently in with the county set up still to come back. The biggest problem in recent years was Mullinalaghta but they are no longer a threat. Of course there are no guarantees and you could be caught out like last year but there is currently no other team shaping up near as well.

This is going to be one of the most straight forward championship to predict. There is no one in the County who will get near Killoe this year. As stated above, Mull are not the force they used to be. Colmcille always win a championship, then disappear for a few years. They were very lucky to win it last year. Who would be next in line, Abbey or Slashers? They wouldn't get near Colmcille or Mull never mind Killoe. Championship is a foregone conclusion and we haven't even played one game yet! Killoe lost the division 1 leinster league final on thursday night to Thomas Davis, one of the top teams in Dublin by a kick of a ball. Killoe were missing Mickey Quinn, Daniel Mimnagh, James Moran, Larry Moran, Darren Moffett, Ronan Keogh, Niall Farrelly and Simon Kiernan. Mullinalaghta putting 6-11 up against Carrickedmond and winning by 21 points !!!! also noteworthy from the weekend. It's not often you see a team score 6 goals in senior league.

Did hear that mimmnagh and dooner have injuries and mimmnagh is possibly long term but if Killoe stay fit can't see them being beaten.
