Replying To LongfordgaaAbú:  "Leader cup semis this Saturday.

Granard at home to Killoe
Abbeylara at home to Clonguish

Probably a tight game in Higginstown with Granard winning narrowly. Clonguish will win the other semi comfortably I reckon. Rathcline should beat Mostrim in the relegation game. Still no white smoke on the other relegation result."
Abbeylara have already beaten Clonguish away from home this year. It will be far from comfortable for Clonguish. They aren't even favourites for me in this game. Killoe to win against Granard and to beat Abbeylara in the final.

Longfordgaaabu's dedication to downplay Killoe and hype Clonguish is impressive. I can't see how anyone could predict Granard to take Killoe. Killoe played the whole league with a half team and sometimes less. They will win that match by at least 8 points. I think a tight match with Abbey is in store but should hopefully sneak it

Killoe will win by at least 10 points and Clonguish will also stroll in their game....Clonguish by 8. Both teams back at full strength bar Mickey Quinn. All this news of long term absentees are a smokescreen. Two McCormacks back will add to the strongest squad in the county. David Barden is back for another year for Clonguish.

Ah come on now Spinx nobody believes the McCmormacks are back playing for Killoe!!!! Two tight games this weekend but the return of Killoes county men will help big time

We are missing a few lads for this weekend so we will get nothing easy away to Abbeylara.

I see the Clonguish minors have picked up where they left off last season!
Hard to imagine a town like Edgeworthstown can't put out a decent underage team, never mind having to amalgamate.

I heard Aidan Keogh is back too. Might see Niall Sheridan in at full forward too before the year is out for Abbeylara. Any more lads coming back?

Go back 2 pages and slasher9 has Padraig McCormack back for Killoe. I would trust Slasher9 as he has been spot on with most things he posts here.

3rd and 4th place teams in the league make it through to the final of the Leader Cup. I'm assuming Killoe, like ourselves, were still far from full strength for this evenings games. Just proves what a sham the league was this year.

No games in Cavan tonight so said I'd go to Granard v Killoe. Very good game in fairness, two teams battled hard to win it. Killloe looked to be more physically powerful and experienced but Granard had very good goal chances which they didn't take and also missed some easy frees. They should have won it. Impressed with Longford club football as I have not seen any club football in a few years in the county.

3rd and 4th Place league finishers in the Leader Cup Final shows that the structureis wrong both teams would have competedfor div 1 title realistically if players were available for more than 3 games...
Has there been any word on Christie, is he staying or going? Surely theses are the games that an incoming manager needs to be at and seeing what is out there in every competitive game.

Rumour has it that he is sticking around for another season. Another depressing year ahead. Season over in January after a successful O Byrne Cup campaign

Well in fairness the league games have to be played at some stage and county players can't be around all the time. It is still a better system than forcing players to play league games after they were knocked out of the championship.

Close game in Granard as expected. Losing Gallagher was a major blow for the home side so we caught a break without a few of our regulars. Clonguish as expected won the other semi, closer than I thought but that might be down to a few of their regulars missing too.

I'm sticking with Clonguish to push on, make the breakthrough on Saturday and carry it into Championship. It's 9 years since Killoe won it and 13 years since Clonguish won it. Almost a decade since anyone other than Mullinalaghta won the Leader Cup!

Hard to see Mostrim surviving the relegation final.

As original match was played in Arva (home venue for Dromard), I believe Slashers wanted home venue this time.
When will these matches be played now. When the county championship is over? rediculous.

I can't blame Slashers, seeing as it was Dromard who messed up as well.
Why should they have to travel up again.
Surely that should have been sorted from the start when a replay was granted.
The fixture was up for about a week and then last night it was pulled.
One week break after this weekend and then the championship starts.

Dromard finished ahead of slashers and are entitled to home venue. If this match ends up being replayed then the previous match is voided as if it was never played and Dromard are still entitled to home advantage
