Replying To endgame:  "Great performance by the minors last night. Good to turn the tables on Sligo who have had Roscommon's number at underage recently. I know we were beaten by 12 points by Mayo a few weeks ago but there are fine footballers on this Roscommon side. Great spread of clubs from around the county represented on the team. Nobody from Brigid's or Clann but two players from Shannon gaels. A special mention to Strokestown's Sean McDonnell. He was brilliant last night. As fine a display as I've seen from any player in the primrose and blue. It's all very hopeful because we were posting here about the demise of Roscommon underage football. The test though for this team will come in the semi final against Mayo. Can we turn around that 12 point deficit from just three weeks ago. A fine Galway team will await the winners in the Connacht Final."
Now that they've got the winning habit might well do it v Mayo.
When is that game, 19th or 26th?

Gone very quiet here.
It's being said in some insider circles that the Dublin/Louth game is definitely set for Saturday 27th but obviously can't be announced officially till after Leinster Final .

Correct. On the official www.gaa.ie/fixtures-results website, the following four matches are down for Saturday 27th May:
Leinster Winner v Roscommon.
Ulster Winner v Monaghan.
Ulster Runner-Up v Westmeath.
Leinster Runner-Up v Cork
There are some big hurling matches on Sunday 28th May.
It means that Roscommon will have only one week to prepare for the Sligo game, while they will have two weeks.

Cuckoo singing now and excitement building!

I was looking at something and thought it said the 20th/21st. Maybe my mistake. So definitely the weekend of the 27th?

The Dublin/Louth Leinster Final is fixed for Sunday May 14th according to all media and offical outlets

Teams involved in the Leinster and Ulster finals this weekend need a two week break before playing again on Saturday 27th May.
All the teams involved last week in the Connacht and Munster finals are out again next week (20th/21st). Sligo are therefore playing Kildare next weekend and hopefully Davy and the lads will have a good look at them.

Was distracted while tapping out the post. Of course it should have read Dublin/Louth v Ros on 27th

Looks likely for the Saturday but wouldn't bank on it yet. They still haven't released tickets for sale for Dublin v Galway Leinster hurling game which is down for Croke Park 2pm Sun 28th so perhaps a double header with our game is still an option there.

Yes indeed.
After 9k at Dublin/Wexford HQ won't want to open the place for maybe half that amount if it's a dead rubber game.

If Dublin win on Sunday a double header with Dublin v Roscommon (Football) and Dublin v Galway (Hurling) in Croke Park on Sunday 28th May would have made perfect sense. It would be a better atmosphere and it would be great to have the Galway supporters cheering for the Rossies and vice-versa.
On the other hand if the Dublin/Louth v Roscommon match is already schedule on the official Gaa fixtures list for Saturday 27th May, the Gaa can't really mess people around who already have changed their work schedules/parties etc.
Not sure what the fixtures committee are at to be honest?

It's TBC on their listed fixtures, actual dates should be confirmed on Monday. I know plenty Galway hurling supporters that little have interest in their footballers so I doubt many of them will be waiting around for our match if it happens to be a double header in Croke Park on the 28th.

It actually says TBD on 27th May as with the other fixtures on that day. (Not TBC) I would read this as TimeTo Be Decided. There is no mention of the match possibly being on Sunday 28th.
The 28th May seems to be all hurling.
I am not trying to be smart. Just trying to make sense of the official GAA fixture list.
They could easily have said if Louth win, the match is on Saturday 27th May and if Dublin win it would be a double header on Sunday 28th May.
It is not exactly Rocket Science.

It was the same for the Connacht and Munster finalists round 1 fixtures, May 20th they had on GAA.ie fixtures yet once confirmed last Monday, Sligo v Kildare was set for Sunday 21st.

Yes they should have all fixtures already set and no need of waiting for Leinster final to finish.

Absolutely analyser.
Sometimes the GAA seem to go out of their way to make it hard for people to attend games.

After watching Dublin destroy Louth today I haven't changed my view on tough group for us. Dublin in Croke Park in round 1 is as tough as it gets and hopefully we can be competitive and not repeat the mistakes Louth made today. Sligo will have two week break before playing us and it's 5 or 6 day break for us. Kildare performance against Dublin shows they'll be hard to beat in the round 3 match, Cork,Clare and Donegal was the other 4th seed options all probably better draws than Kildare.

Anyway good to be getting at least another three games to see where we are and stand after it.

I would hope Davy Burke and Co are not as naive with their tactics. Nothing to suggest so far that they would be though. Need to summon the work rate we showed against Mayo and take advantage of any chances we get. Hopefully there's been some good psychology work done as well to get some belief in the team when it comes to playing in Croker.
