Replying To togoutlads:  "Everybody is predicting a fairly handy win for Galway v Offaly. Worrying! I hope there's no risk of complacency. Maughan would just love to get one over us and they're in a must win state now. Our lads will have to keep driving on and keep this great momentum. Hopefully our lads come safely through the Sigerson final and that NUIG lift the cup!"
It will probably be a 3rd game in a row whereby Galway will have the contest basically won by half time. As for the Sigerson cup the NUIG panel is filled with Galway U20 All Ireland winners and minor All-Ireland finalists so no real surprise that group has got this far. The bookies/punters reckon UL will edge the final, we'll see if they are right tonight.

D Clifford has scored 5-20 in 4 Sigerson matches for UL. Sean Kelly will need to play out of his skin to bottle him up, unless that is NUIG have someone else in mind for a man marking job there. Up UCG!!

The weather may play a part in helping curtail Clifford tonight by the looks of it.
What a class player though.

Someone of Cliffords level will always get scores. One on one generational type players are unstoppable. But disrupting the supply line and not leaving him one on one are the only way. If he does end up one on one Kelly is one of the few in the game that are capable for him........but even then it is damage limitation.

The David Clifford final eh.

I had no idea how UL were favourites coming into that game, NUIG evidently a far better team. So many talented Galway players so great to see.

The coverage of him is a bit much at times. And I don't think it helps him nor Kerry either.

I was laughing at the experts all week saying that Clifford would win it by himself.
Congrats NUIG excellent players from all over Connacht

Sean Kelly is a real talent. Cathal Heneghan in fairness kicked three vital scores and deserved his MOM. Our own Fionn McDonagh was excellent too…worked his socks off.

Couple of them not on the panel.
Very impressed with Gavin Burke, Mulcahy who picked up Clifford and Eoin Kelly. When you think Tony Gill and Jack Glynn came on as subs, those 3 can't be far away from the panel

NUIG were the much better team. The penalty which got UL back into it came from a poorly hit shot. They created no goal chance of note.
Clifford had an off-night. He kicked 3 or 4 wides and didn't score from play. Although conditions were tough.
Young Gavin Burke was excellent throughout, Sean and Paul Kelly drove us forward, Fionn McDonagh was very good and Heneghan who came on, had a massive impact. Fair play to all involved.

Good man GAA Lover and a "lover" of all things Galway GAA by the looks of it. Your "prediction" that the game would be over at half-time was inaccurate however as it was 3-3 but if you can keep up the good work of "predicting" the final results all the better. Where are you from in Galway (or is it Roscommon) again as you have never stated it? Lol

Ignore him, he's clearly not from Galway. He'd soon disappear if nobody replied to him.

100%. Superbly talented footballer but the coverage surely does not help.

You can only blame the conditions to a certain extent as they were the same for everyone and a lot of NUIG players stood up and were superb.

A great night for Connacht GAA.

Tommy time you stopped picking fights.

GAA lover was talking about Galway v Offaly being over by HT. Just like the first 2 league games. Hence third game in a row and resting Sigerson lads this weekend because they won't be needed. He did not say the Sigerson would be over at HT.

Personally I'm not sure we can afford to rest all of them but would definitely leave some out.

Gavin Burke looked like the team's best forward in the first half imo, and he wearing no4. Modern football, I suppose?

Brilliant win for NUIG! Sigersons are very hard won. Great for Galway and Connacht.

2 great displays by 2 excellent and quick corner backs. One in the modern / up and down the field mode scoring 2 points, the other and a much more traditional tight marking role.
