Replying To togoutlads:  "Yes, a mighty win for NUIG. Tierney and Tomo, along with the 3 Kelly's and sub Gill, had great games. All positive for Galway. Such a pity Mulkerrins and Tommy Conroy are out, hope the lads do it for them in the final. Come on UCG!!! (That 'national university of ireland' rebranding was a mistake, never sat well with me! Another debate for another forum!)"
No sign of Conor Campbell with UCG and he's been on the bench for Galway's last 2 games. What's going on there?

Congrats to Jarlath's. Beat Colman's in the final by 3-6 to 0-9.

Sean Bermingham and Patrick Egan are serious prospects.

Outstanding from St Jarlaths in the more atrocious conditions again today. Kyle Gilmore outstanding with his handling and kickouts in goals, Ross Fahy a centre back with a real presence, Cian Davin a massive attacking performance from the half backline, Cogger did a mountain of work in the middle, Coen totally nullified the Colmans full forward, but Egan was the standout player and he settled the ship. Bermingham got a serious amount of attention with two sweepers in the first half and this alone shows his potential and ability. I hope they give the Hogan cup a good crack now.

Fantastic display. North board football alive and well in Galway. 14 corofin lads , 8 Tuam lads on the panel..

First provincial success for Jarlaths since Shane Walsh and Liam Silke was playing for them be a interesting to see how this current Jarlaths side fares in the All Ireland series.

Garbally won the B Connacht championship today with the help of a handful of Padraig Pearses players.

What age are these guys how come we havent heard much bout them before
Dont renember them playing minor or u 20 with galway yet
We had 3 Galway Schools in Senior A big improvement for sure
Claregalway beaten by St Jarlaths in Semi Final
St Josephs galway city reached semi too

I think from Jarlaths only Bermingham played minor, Fahy was a sub in 2020, a few of the Claregalway college lads from last week did play county minor, Ramsey, Greaney, Kilcommins ( Galway Captain), and Donnellan was part of the panel in 2020 and 2021. Other lads may not have opted in as the points race in the Leaving Cert is much more important these days and some are still underage for minor. I may have missed a few of the other Claregalway college lads but just can't think of them all. I'm not sure about the Bish lads but there are a few from St James and Moycullen who are serious ballers. Young Tierney from Oughterard also looks handy. However, it is obvious Galway have talent coming with winning colleges A,B and C and UCG stuffed with Galway players and few also with Thomond (UL)

Thanks for that update GDL
Prob some late developers there too
Which is no bad thing
i dont know but i cant help thinking
That the gaa have made a huge mistake
By changing the u21 to u20 and u18 to u17
There is evidence allready that players are being lost
Because they are missing out on playing county
Now there looking at an u19 grade it defies belief
Which to me shows they got it wrong by messing with the u18 and u21 grades
As the saying goes
If it aint broke dont fix it

Brendans Killarney had a good win v a fancied Tralee CBS. Seems they too, have one or two stand-out scorers. McRory cup final on today. So, will be interesting to see how it develops. Hopefully, pitch conditions improve from here on in..

I think the semi finals are Connacht v Leinster and Ulster v Munster. The Sem have a tradition having won the Hogan cup 4 times, David Clifford played and was outstanding on their win in 2016, the goal into the top corner was special. They will play the winners of the McRory cup in Ulster. It is on today between Marys Magherafelt and Holy Trinity Cookstown (Peter Canavan is involved as a teacher there). St Jarlaths play Naas CBS who have contested the last 3 Leinster finals winning two, Naas GAA development has been coming, their club team got beat in the Leinster final with Kilmacud Crokes. Naas town is growing and with a population of circa 20k they will have a big pick.

Eanna Monaghan from ClareGalway also was on the minor team in 2021 and is underage again this year.
I think he has been injured though so didn't play much part for ClareGalway college.

I think the Morrin lad also from Claregalway may have been involved and Eoin Brady from St. Jarlaths was a sub versus Roscommon at Tuam Stadium. I saw highlights of the McRory cup game on the BBC Ni website, St Mary's, Magherafelt look good, their Captain Eoin McEvoy apparently played with Derry seniors in the McKenna cup this year. Cookstown had a magnificent midfielder a McHugh lad who won an All Ireland minor with Tyrone last year.

We should have a pretty good u20 team
Some serious talent in Galway at that age group
If we can get them all to play some lads with the seniors
Last year was a write off the mayo match was dissapointing
Galway never got going at all but last year was hard for all teams
This year there is a u20 development leauge
We are in the john kerins cup
We are playing Cork and Kerry 3 team group
Starting next sat and following sat
lots lads should get game time
I think then there is a play off game after that

Everybody is predicting a fairly handy win for Galway v Offaly. Worrying! I hope there's no risk of complacency. Maughan would just love to get one over us and they're in a must win state now. Our lads will have to keep driving on and keep this great momentum. Hopefully our lads come safely through the Sigerson final and that NUIG lift the cup!

I think the Sigerson is hugely positive for Galway football this year. It is a high level competition and great to see NUIG backboned by Galway lads.

Wonder will PJ give any of them a break for Sunday? Its easy to leave off your college lads when it is only a couple, but when it is more than half the team it gets a bit tricky.

Anyway I think we are at the start of some very exciting times for Galway football. D2 might suit us for blooding new lads and getting their confidence at adult level (like Mayo did last year) but at sooner rather than later we need to meet the intensity of the D1 teams. That will be the real test.

Connacht Q/F will be a step up from anything we meet in D2 maybe with the exception of Derry away. Derry and the Ros away will be a step up in intensity at the end of the league and might suit us grand getting us revved up for Mayo.

Offaly are a lower D3 side. They done well to get up last year but are completely out of their depth. Can see nothing but an easy Galway win.

Yes, Derry and Ros will take some beating. Both are flying. Of course, we're capable of taking them if we're right and if we've D1 / Top 4 and ultimately AI ambitions in time, then we need to be beating these teams now.

Surely an oppertunity to give other lads game time
After all its important to have competetion for places on team
