Disgraceful Scenes At Half Time

Replying To Wally:  "I for one am absolutely disgusted at the scenes at half time in the all ireland final today.

I actually feel physically sick just thinking about the behaviour of both Dublin and Mayo players involved.

Something has to be done about this and the gas needs to throw the book needs at both counties.

I don't think it is taking it too far to say that both counties should be expelled from next years championship.

I hope that all hoganstand posters will row in behind me in an act of solidarity and consistency on these issues."

Replying To KillingFields:  "Something does need to be done about players behaviour like this but your idea of expulsion seems to me to come from a slightly alterior motive."
Alterior motive?

No I have no ulterior motive.

I just think we should all call out these incidents in an act if consistency.

Surely nobody on here wants to be accused of hypocrisy?

I mean when other counties have been involved in handbags the reaction on here and by RTE pundits has been astonishing.

I am watching the sunday game and I am waiting patiently to see the 15-20 minutes that they set aside to discuss this very serious issue.

There was something similar in a league game earlier in the year in, Tyrone v Dublin . It looked worse then today but brushed under the carpet

Gimme a break. Your maiden all Ireland was won on the back of a Phillip Jordan dive. The Gooch was knocked unconscious and eye gouged in 05 final ,, none of these received as much attention as they should have.
Don't play the victim.

Philly might have bad memories of the tunnel. I recall a few years ago he stuck into Corks Michael Shields in the tunell at half time but got more than he bargained for when Shield gave him enough of it with a flurry of punches. I think he got a slap from Ó Shea today.

Time some team did it to Dublin. Pity some of the Leinster teams have forgotten their past and now the knee before them.

ridiculous to punish both teams for a handful of individuals

How are the usual chips there Mayotyroneman. Thankfully you're well balanced as you've equal chips on both shoulders.

Absolutely agree Wally. Let's remove Dublin from next year's competition. That'll show em. If they complain, two year ban!

Mayo can stay in because Dublin probably started it

Wally is on a wind up, I'd much rather see a wee dust up at half time than the diving and feigning injury we've seen from some Tyrone players in recent times.

But calling for expulson just looks petty and needless. sanction players, teams but not explusion.

This Dublin team wouldnt be jumping around against the Meath team of the 80s or Offaly team of early 70's...a row in the tunnel would mean Brian Fenton might have a great first half but would be subbed "injured" in second...its a sign of the fight gone out of football that there is almost "surprise" that there was a tunnel incident this evening, and more amazing it took the All Ireland final for there to be one, the beating Dublin gave Meath, scoring a third goal with almost last play of the game and the home and hosed, the player bundling the ball into the net should not be remembering anything else of the game...teams are too soft, the clip of the 1975 Munster football final where a Cork and Kerry player decked each other, ref pulls them up and makes them shake hands and get on with it....Dublin will continue to destroy and humiliate teams until some team decides to stand up to them..its easy be a nice sporting and "lovely team" when you are winning...people saying Brian Cody always gracious in defeat, most of the time, I seen him a few times in defeat when he wasnt so nice..nothing wrong with it, if you have no bottle you will always finish second..great Dublin team and all that but no one will lay a hand on any of their star players...

If players act out of line in the heat of a match there is some excuse depending on ones viewpoint. If as suggested mc mahon got involved with players còming off while not picked to play that is common assault. The guards should have stepped in and made an arrest as you would expect if anyone outside the game attacks a player.

Croke Park, Dublin and Mayo reps and the match officials will be asked, over Skype, for their opinions on the scenes. Further online meetings will be convened and a statement will be issued to the Southern media that "In view of such disgraceful scenes the Association must be seen to act. Consequently Tyrone, Armagh, Derry, Antrim, Down and Fermanagh will be barred from next year's Championship. We can't have this. Those Nordies....you know....nothing but trouble".

Then O'Shea is in a bit of bother as he "assaulted" McMahon.
