If the Dubs can stop Mayo from scoring goals before the second water break, they have a chance. Mayo to win this maroondiesel (Mayo) - Posts: 1226 - 17/12/2020 12:16:41 2323109 Link 1 |
Formula One , Rugby Union ? Both team sports where very dominant. Dubh_linn (Dublin) - Posts: 2313 - 17/12/2020 12:32:33 2323115 Link 1 |
"Money does not make Con dance through our defence or Rock kick a pressure free" Rock is a good free taker, so what ? Most counties have a good free taker. It's hardly the greatest skill in the world, bloody hell. Is "money" a simplistic term for "long term sustained financial investment". Don't try and tell me that that professional coaching, facilities etc etc cannot improve players. And all of this is paid for by a thing we call "money". Best scoreline, but a result that dies nothing for them. Cavan, for example, lost by more but at least tried to express themselves in the game. And will learn more as a result. Going out to "lose by less than the rest" is not a laudable approach. cavanman47 (Cavan) - Posts: 5245 - 17/12/2020 12:50:05 2323119 Link 0 |
How do you know the Westmeath result does nothing for them? They had the best result of any of the major teams in Leinster against Dublin, that has to count for something. Cavan were out on their feet with 30 mins gone. Expressing yourself won't put boxty on the table for supper my fellow Gael.

I hazard a guess and say most top tier counties ( of which Cavan are not one of) have players that seem fitter, better conditioned, have better resources, have better structures etc etc.

Favourites are turned over plenty of times in the league when teams of similar level play each other.

Assume he is on about the only thing that top teams are measured by- the championship. Nobody remembers anything about the league, as in who goes up or down. It is irrelevant

You would want to tread carefully as you are beginning to sound even more bitter than some of the Kerry boys and I didn't think that was possible

If you are from Cavan or Longford then you certainly know what boxty is.

Why on earth is the final on a Saturday night? It should be on Sunday afternoon. The GAA mention tradition a lot but when it comes to facilitating tv stations it seems tradition is blown out the window. republicofcloone (Leitrim) - Posts: 375 - 17/12/2020 14:04:10 2323148 Link 0 |
Surely you're not comparing racing cars to Gaelic football ? In any case it's not classed as a team sport. Rugby is fine but the stats don't lie, Gaelic football is miles ahead when it comes to favorites winning.

I think Mayo can win also, best of luck to the Mayo team Saturday

So if they are at a similar level, then the odds are fairly similar also. And you can see that in the odds offered.

Well Republic, I reckon a lot of folks will be thankful its on a Saturday. Winners/losers/ neutrals can have a few drinks and not worry about having to drive the next day. I can't wait myself!

Formula One is actually classed a team sport consisting of 10 teams. You did say " no other sport ". Also, GAA is not miles ahead. League games are evidence of that. Dubh_linn (Dublin) - Posts: 2313 - 17/12/2020 14:27:38 2323168 Link 0 |
