Clonmel Commercials are through to the MFFand will meet Nemo Rangers, scoring the last 3 points to beat Miltown-Malbay in a tough battle on a scoreline of 0-07 to 0-05. Coopers_Helmet (Tipperary) - Posts: 154 - 17/11/2019 15:34:48 2249997 Link 0 |
I think it would be very difficult to have the 2 run at the same time. It would have been Crokes representing Kerry under the previous rules, but I think this system now gives more precedence to the club championship. Tough on Stacks for sure, not knowing for sure if they'd be playing or not. Can't be ideal for preparation. WanPintWin (Galway) - Posts: 2018 - 17/11/2019 16:09:44 2250006 Link 0 |
You're probably right. Just a shame as that should have been a tight game (Kerry v cork). Nemo are probably the one team in Cork that come out of the county expecting to win a munster and challenge for all Ireland's, too club that they are. Corofin still the team to beat but there are a couple of teams out there that will give them a game. Nemo will have a tougher final now. Clonmel are a decent outfit. Would it be possible to split this Topic in to two? Football Club Championships and Hurling Club Championships. I'm only interested in the Hurling Championship, but I have to scroll through a lot of football comments to follow the hurling comments. I'm sure it's the same for people who are only interested in football. Cockney_Cat (UK) - Posts: 2419 - 17/11/2019 16:35:51 2250014 Link 0 |
Borris-Ileigh are having a great year so far in winning the county final for the first time since 1986. They take on take on an experienced Ballygunner outfit in the MF next Sunday at Pairc Ui Rinn. Great to see Tooreen of Mayo pick up their 2nd Connacht HURLING title yesterday v Kinvara. Well done lads. What a shock story if they could now go on and win the All Ireland...unlikely but they can dream for now. yew_tree (Mayo) - Posts: 11219 - 18/11/2019 09:24:57 2250093 Link 7 |
So Ulster Club Hurling Championships have been decided for this year with Slaughtneil beating Dunloy last week in the Senior and the other two being decided yesterday. In the Junior Eoghan Rua Coleraine defeated Newry Shamrocks and St Endas (Antrim) defeated Eoghan Ruadh (Dungannon) on a penalty shoot out - with the final score after 5 penalties each being 1-0 to St Endas!! Ballygunner are favourites. If Paddy Stapleton who went off injured near the end of the game against Glen Rovers is unable to play he'll be a big loss for Borris-Ileigh on Sunday.

A bit of an exaggeration to say the least. I've been to some cracking club games this year from underage through to intermediate and senior. Are there clubs employing primarily negative tactics? Without a doubt, but the vast majority of those aren't getting far. The more successful teams are those playing more attacking football which can only be a good thing. It will hopefully force a shift in mindset. WanPintWin (Galway) - Posts: 2018 - 22/11/2019 13:49:58 2250868 Link 0 |
I don't agree with you. Been to a few club championship games in Leinster and Donegal. One of the games was how you described but that apart generally been entertaining. Even the first replay between Gweedore and NC while not score heavy was an enthralling game to be at.

Good win for Borris-Ileigh in the MF in a tight game against Ballygunner on a scoreline of 1-12 to 1-11. Brendan Maher had a fine display to get MOTM. Coopers_Helmet (Tipperary) - Posts: 154 - 24/11/2019 15:52:18 2251121 Link 1 |
He was absolutely immense today, thoroughly deserved.
