Now its 15 men behind ball when you don't have the ball for most teams.

Gaelic football is ruined.

This is happening underage, 2nd division level aswell"
Couple of bad games this year but overall very good championship

Good win for Ballyboden today, with Colm Basquel once again impressing with 1-03. Next up Éire Og (complete with former Dublin Minor and Ballymun Kickhams player Colm Hulton) in the Leinster Final.

Isn't is funny how there was no uproar with David Gough reffing a match with a Dublin club team
playing. Yet all hell broke loose before he refereed the All ireland Final with Dublin playing.
Oh but no Kerry team or Kerry club team playing today....!
Maybe that is is why nothing was mentioned. ;o)

I was at the game today as based not far from Mullingar. I actually thought Maurice Deegan was supposed to be the ref but I must have misread that info. For the record I was there as a neutral and rate Gough as probably the best inter county ref. However I was disappointed with Gough's performance especially in the first half. I thought Garrycastle had a few tough decisions given against them in terms of frees which I don't think were. Plus had a few that should have been called that were not. In fairness he had a good second half but at that stage it was game over. Based on what I seen today anyone from Eire Og might prefer someone else to ref the final.

On the game itself Ballyboden were really impressive. Having seen 3 of their Dublin championship games on TV I was not entirely convinced. However they completely blew Garrycastle away with their physicality and athleticism. There was a very noticeable difference between the teams in terms of conditioning with Ballyboden players breaking tackles easily with Garrycastle often hitting a brick wall. In fairness the final scoreline was very harsh on the Athlone men. They seemed to suffer from nerves today and were rabbits in the headlights for alot of the first half where they should have been 2 or 3 scores better than what they were. They were the better team for the majority of the second half and were it not for a couple of excellent saves could have made a game of it. Ballyboden were able to find another gear and got a couple of goals which were harsh on their opponents.

Unfortunately for me I watched the deferred coverage of the Connaught final. An advertisement for Gaelic football this was not that is for sure. Corofin found a gear when they needed it after a very cynical performance which their opponents mirrored. The quality of the officiating for a provincial final was poor to say the least.

One of the standout individual displays by any player in the club championship.
Brendan Maher is some hurler. Gave every last ounce for Borrisoleigh today.
The look on his face at the final whistle showed what sport is all about.

Before I say this Ballyboden were the better team on the day but David Gough has a really bad day at the office today he gave ever 50:50 call to the Dubs in the 1st half and totally ruined the game

Selective outrage with some here I reckon. They'll find their outrage button again next summer, no doubt.

Thought ballygunner were poor, tried to over work the ball, unnecessary handpasses, unable to find a man in better position..
but yeah Maher was incredible.. He seemed to be everywhere..
The joy on his face was a pleasure to see. What a year he's having. Congratulations Borris ileigh.

Interesting regarding Hulton, his was schooled etc in Carlow, played a certain amount of underage with Eire Og and won an all Ireland colleges B medal with St Mary Academy in Carlow. As a minor he transferred club and travelled to and from Dublin to play / train with Ballymun as there is a family connection with the club. He played senior and u21 with Ballymun subsequently. Just wonder if there is much of the 'Dublin Diaspora' effect going on?

Clearly there was no issue with eire og as he back playing with them and the best of luck to him.

Proper football played between corofin and pearses two physically strong sides that value possession.
The days of hoof are gone it may not make for a spectacle but that's today's game to kick the ball away is a sin at top level.

Ulster SFC this weekend who do yas have. I'm a hurling man myself but have taken a liking to kilcoo over the years and would love to see them lift the Ulster. Especially Conor laverty, he deserves it for all hes given to kilcoo, the man is an inspiration to all.

Very poor game of football with most of play involving back and side passing- the winner will not mind though. Maybe proper and poor have the same meaning! The Ref did not appear capable of keeping up with the play which did not help.

All Ireland Club Football Semi Final
Corofin (Galway) v Nemo Rangers (Cork) or Clonmel (Tipp)
All Ireland Club Hurling Semi Final
St.Thomas' (Galway) v Borris-lleigh (Tipp)
Can only see a Galway Double here with both Corofin and St.Thomas' winning, but the Hurling Semi Final will be tight and a good match.

I am not one to hark back of days gone by or roll out the 'more like basketball' line. But the cynicism and constant fouling was a tough watch. All allowed to play out by a ref happy to facilitate it.

Any idea where the hurling will be? Portlaoise looks the most likely option. It should be a good game but I wouldn't discount Borris-Ileigh. They have been the underdog in a lot for their last few games.
On side note did you see their mamascothttps://twitter.com/GAA_BEO/status/1198631614273728513?s=20

Borrisoleigh v St Thomas's will be Ennis or Gaelic grounds I'd say. Nemo v Corofin would be the same venues I would think.

Where can you view these fixtures? GAA website is useless.

If Nemo can beat Clonmel, I'd say they may have a squeak. Corofin rightly favourites but a stronger forward line could've had them in trouble yesterday. Na Piarsaigh had plenty of possession.

I hope you're right but St Thomas's have not looked brilliant and any team that knocks off Ballygunner can't be too bad. Corofin were lucky to get past Tuam Stars and have looked very plain probably due to playing so much the last few years. Again I hope you're right.

Nemo v Clonmel will be interesting. Nemo will be out for revenge after Michael Quinlivan scored a late late goal to win the MF a couple of years ago. Watch: The Dramatic Late Goal Which Won The Munster Club ...
