Job done. What happened with red card I didn't see . McCormick was good today. Don't think we got out of 3rd gear today

Good score 23 points and margin of victory 12 against opposition that played with a blanket defence and weather conditions was in no way helpful. The negative was only leading by 5 at half time. Poor decision making and shot selection at times. Our most consistent forward was Ciaran Murtagh. Conor Cox good first half and Enda Smith stepped up second half. McCormack was the pick of our defenders on his championship debut.

We move swiftly on to the Connacht final and another likely trip to Pearse Stadium which Galway will be favourites and that will suit us fine.

Yes good win and great to be in another Connacht final. Think the conditions suited Sligo more than ourselves. Missed the strike for the sending off even though we were right behind it. I think we just did what we had to do, probably only played in 3rd gear at most and that's not being disrespectful to Sligo. The red card didn't help their cause. Sligo to their credit in the first half cut through our defense a couple of times and got scores out of it. A little too easily for my liking. Hopefully it was just Ros taking their foot of the gas a bit. Big improvement needed for final but great to be there. Now to wring me socks and jocks out!!!!!

A good win in poor conditions. I would be worried how easily Sligo could run through our defence without a glove laid on them. Not sure if there were any lesson's learned there from the league final in that regard. A fit Shane Walsh playing from the start would have a field day. We had a great spread of scores from play against a very defensively organised team which was good. Despite our height disadvantage at midfield I thought they did well punching it down and getting extra bodies in to win the breaking ball. Definitely plenty of work to do. Barring a huge Leitrim upset, it's going to be a massive battle against a Galway team who will not want to lose to us for a third time on the trot.

Yes and a very mobile player who could make excellent attacking runs.

Why are Galway favourites?
Ye have beaten Galway well over the last two meetings and won Division 2..

Agree with everything above. Happy with the win and spread of scores and we never looked like losing. I would be worried defensively against Galway (barring a massive shock next week) - we saw against Mayo that they were far more structured defensively and the game will be nothing like croke park a few weeks ago. A lot for management to ponder in terms of match ups etc particularly in terms of Walsh, Comer and Conroy who can't be allowed to shoot at will like a training session as he was in the league final. Will be interesting to see if Cunningham sticks with the 6 forwards from today or brings in Kilroy to play a deeper role. Hopefully Hughes will be fit by then also.

With the bookies galway are 2/5 ,Ross 7/4 and Leitrim 40/1 for the Nestor Cup..that's the facts regarding who is favorites..

We beat you by a point in the last league meeting. The bookies and its punters set the prices. Since then Galway took out the defending Connacht champions and All-Ireland runners up on their home patch.

Paddy Power have Galway at 2/5 to win Connacht. Hopefully we can upset the odds.

There will be nothing in it if Galway get to the Connacht Final. Roscommon gave us a fair amount to think about in Croker with their attacking display to suggest they may do enough to take it and have no fear of Pearse Stadium. Need to get over Leitrim first of course!

Ye have just beaten the All Ireland runners up, very close to winning Div 2 final and Shane Walsh is back. Galway have to be favourites.

The bookies odds are because of the money placed on by their punters. Another reason why extra money will be laid on Galway now is the knowledge of the hammering they gave to Derry and look at how Derry dismantled Tyrone in Omagh today!

Galway are mad bookies favourites even before they play the semi final.

Hard see anything but a Roscommon win in Connaught final if they play Galway they have beaten them twice this year last 2 Connacht finals In pearse stadium beat them handy as well , as a Galway man I hope Galway can stay in the game ( provided they in the final ) with 10 mins to go but going on current form not looking great ,,

totally agree.. I actually think Leitrim will beat ye by 7/8 points. If that doesn't happen we will beat ye by 15 points easy. Ye probably shouldn't show up to be honest and save embarrassing yourselves. I'm just thinking who would I like in quarter final
