Do you mean you wouldn't have Morris on the panel RD?

Absolute ****! Jack Flynn is injured - I hear he may have to have an operation. I know Jack and he is 100% committed to club and county!! Prior to his injury, it wasn't unusual to see Jack with a bag of balls on the pitch in Ratoath doing some kicking drills on his own or with a couple of mates! He is an incredibly hard worker!

That's a pity with his injury. Let's hope it's a speedy recovery

Any evidence there at the moment to suggest we wont get relegated to division 3?

Too soon to judge. Would have liked to see another competitive match in OByrne cup to help in finding the best 20 players. I think that was dissapointing no question.

Yes we're unbeaten in three games.

Wouldn't write us off just yet. Have to sort out the kicking game though quickly or we could be in trouble, it just seems like kick it anywhere. The most worrying thing on Wednesday was the lads were hand passing and sideline kept shouting to kick it in. Unfortunately it was to no one in there or a Hail Mary. That's a worry. But hopefully gets sorted before cork

I'd be shocked if we got relegated. We'll beat Limerick and Louth, and possibly Clare. Could pick up a point or 2 vs. Cork or Kildare, but I expect nothing from Derry and Dublin.

Taking nothing for granted this year - I think Division 2 looks like it could be incredibly competitive! 3 games at home and 4 away also makes it tougher! the first two home games are must wins I feel - Louth and Clare. Both both of these will cause us problems. Clare outplayed us in the All Ireland last year and Louth appear to have improved a little under Harte so shouldn't be taken lightly! The last two games against Dublin and Kildare are not games I'd like to be going into needing to win to avoid relegation! That said, I could see us being in a very strong position after 5 games and needing to win these games to go up!

Think PP has it about right, behind Dublin,Derry, Kildare and Cork, ahead of the rest. However, thats assuming we will improve on last year, which is not a given, only a hope at this stage. Went to the Cork/ Kerry McGrath Cup game two weeks back and have to say Cork were quite impressive for first game of season, workrate, especially around middle third was good. Midfield on top, driving forward at every chance and O Callaghan scored 2.4 from there. See the Meath game as a must win as next two are away to Kildare and home to Dublin. So expecting a very though opener against what looks like a much improved Cork and nothing like last years stroll. Hopefull any injuries clear up and we can get a much needed positive start to the season.

I don't understand how people can have Cork ahead of us??? Don't get me wrong, I don't think we are streets ahead of them but we can only base it on last years league/championship (pre season competitions mean nothing) and on that we were better than them. The very same as posters on here will ask how we can rate ourselves ahead of Kildare based on recent showings, the same logic has to be applied in the opposite direction as well. As it is we are rightly be hind Dublin, Derry and Kildare in that order, but also ahead of Clare, Cork nd Louth in that order. Yes Clare bet us in the championship but I put that down to a one off bad day against them. In the league we have repeatedly bet them on the last few meetings as far as I can rememeber so I will place us ahead of them, and cork and Louth also

That's a fair assessment. I will say with Kildare it becomes more of a dogged anything can happen game, I'd put it the same for louth against us. Form goes out the window. While on paper Kildare are ahead of us and on paper we'd be ahead of louth however form tends to go out the window.

It was always about championship with me, never found meaning in the league. It was a good 7 games to really ready you for championship but now it is important if we are to be in the race for Sam.

In division 2, Derry, Cork and Louth have come out of the traps in the respective pre-season competitions. Derry will fancy their chances to win division 2, they are Ulster champions and AI semi finalists, they are backboned by Slaughtneil and Glen players who have consistently performed at the highest level for their club.
Louth have the MH factor, he is a smooth operator and will no doubt have his team ready to go. They are in the OBC final on merit but did get a couple of good wins and will target specific games.
I like what Cork are about, if they could get Sherlock, Hurley and Connolly in the same forward line along with O Mahony, Powter and Maguire in the spine they would give anyone a game. They went to town on a Kerry team who had 4 or 5 of their AI winning team out (they probably done very little before that game) but it's still a big feat to do that, image if we done that to Dublin after they won an AI.

Limerick came through an easier side in the McGrath cup and probably would do well to pick up a win in division 2.

This leaves a bracket of 4 teams where it is hard to know where they are at. Dublin have been in a very slow decline since 2019 but still have a lot of great players to call on. Kildare are like Spurs, could be great and shoot the lights out but also could fall to pieces on the day. They have had very good underage teams in the last 10 years at both minor and u21, so at some point and time it must click. Clare are a steady division 2 side, they won't make division 1 but at the same time unless you're Dublin or Derry you don't want to be playing them in Ennis as it can be difficult to come away with a win.

Lastly is ourselves, we're unbeaten in the OBC but played division 3 and 4 sides. We have been a steady division 2 side similar to Clare and also like Kildare as we could fall to pieces on the day as we seen at the start of our league campaign last year. Our one shining light is we have multiple young players (Costello, Hickey, Brennan and O Hare) coming through who have been part of a leinster minor winning side.

I'm optimistic about this league campaign but we need to start it right and win one of the first two games
