Is David Clifford The Best Footballer In The Country Right Now?

Replying To jimbodub:  "When Clifford scores the highedt calibre of class scores in crucial games while playing a pivitol part on the the way to winning All Ireland's..

Then you can compare the two

Until then it's King Con and Prince David

Con has nothing to prove and all I've read so far regarding Clifford is a lot of assumptions and wishful thinking

Con has walked the walk. All available on YouTube and exists in reality not in fantasy or daftly comparing age groups"
Clifford available to watch on Youtube too... i dare say his personal highlight real would be more impressive

This is a great outcome for all really Dubs wouldn't swap Con for Clifford, Kerry wouldn't swap Clifford for Con, everyone's a winner (metaphorically)! ;)

Meanwhile somewhere in the North Cathal McShane breaking his cake laughing.

Have a look at king David's goal against Galway in the allireland minor final 2016 from the halfway line soloing right foot all the way before burying it with his left.

And the allireland minor final of 2017 where he scored 4-04 as captain more than the entire Derry team scored .

Or king David's hogan cup winner of the same year where he scored a cracker from 20 yards out.

Yes your correct Con has walked the walk. I would have Sean O'Shea just behind him ahead of Clifford.

Clifford = Messi
Con = Ronaldo

I'd agree with you there, as Messi would be a more natural player whereas Ronaldo would be a more manufactured like con.

Clifford is a good footballer a bit ahead of most of his age group and that's as far as it goes.
He's being hyped up like some sort of superman for that reason but at senior level he's a good footballer and nothing more.

Messi would be a more natural player as in skills vision unselfishness and very little gym whereas Ronaldo would be more selfish more gym more egotistical.

I remember when Neymar moved to Barcelona he was struggling for goals and in one game Barca got a penalty and Messi who would be the regular penalty taker walked up to Neymar and gave him the ball, you wouldn't see Ronaldo doing that.

Love it when someone says 'end of' as if their opinion is the final answer on an open forum.

Sorry sir we will just end this topic right here based on your 'end of'

Cheers for that

Yea, that was an outrageous travesty giving Clifford Young Player Of the Year AND an All-Star last year. Hopefully, they'll cop on and not give him another All-Star this year. Ridiculous giving a mere "good footballer" such awards. What are they thinking at all, at all?

The whole world is in a mess: what with Boris and Trump, and Clifford. An awful state of affairs altogether.

All done at underage level. It cannot be compared to adult stuff. Give Clifford a bit of time. He's only two years up senior: 2018, a very promising start, and 2019, not too bad either.

But he doesn't come within spitting distance of King Con O'Callaghan. Clifford might in time, if he sticks at it, keeps the head down and works very, very hard. Of course, Con is going to be doing all those things as well!

Poor statement... and do you mean a bit of most at his age or his age group? If you mean age group as you said then his age group is senior.. which makes him better than most intercounty seniors?

Or if you mean he is a bit better than most at his age then please name me another 20 year old who is on power with him and then even one who is better aswell.. seeing as it is only most 20 year olds he is better than.

And btw seanie o'shea is a year older so he is out already. Thats an awfully poor statement alright and id love to know who these other 20 year olds who are just as good or even better are

Sean O Shea would be a better player for me and he is in the same age group unless you want some lad with the same date of birth.
Not as much hype and he's on the same team but Clifford is marked out as some sort of messiah or something. The fact O Shea is on the same team and a better player sets that record straight. As I said ,a good footballer but spare us all the aul blarney about being the best like a good man.

As well as Cian Johnson, Offaly and 18 year-old Oisin Gallen from Donegal. They're right up there with Clifford!

You'd have to laugh. People saying Sean O Shea is better than Clifford, but if this was a thread about Sean O Shea being the best player in the country the same people would most likely be saying Clifford is better!

I was thinking of Oisen Gallen alright, the boy is something special and prodigious at 18, has everything, hopefully he sticks around.

Havent seen enough of Cian Johnson to be honest, but have heard the tales.
