Cork probably performed out of their skins in this game. Let's hope they can reproduce this as Clare are an absolutely terrific team, with great individual hurlers!

Congrats to Cork and a word for Limerick who fought till the end.Kimerick have been superb champions and gave the Limerick people such fantastic days as indeed the rest of us.Today is Coeks day though and fair play to them. CiarraiMick (Dublin) - Posts: 3844 - 07/07/2024 18:25:10 2557475 Link 1 |
It was a mistake on my part,I fully congratulate cork on the win and on the day the better team by more than the 2 points at the finish..forwards caused endless problems for our fellas..thought the 2 downeys and Coleman outstanding today..I didn't tip cork at start of year but they have proved me wrong..as I said I'll sit back now and enjoy final as a neutral and not have to worry about my heart rate..congrats again.. Cork to the final by 6 and do the 5 in a row. Watch this space. Limerick didn't show today.

Deserved win for Cork today. Pace hunger and scoring efficiency were the difference. Outstanding 3rd quarter gave them the cushion to withstand a brave fightback from Limerick who gave it their all as usual. Westfester (Limerick) - Posts: 976 - 07/07/2024 19:17:08 2557497 Link 0 |
Cork were excellent but Limerick showed. They were right there at the end and closed a 7 point gap to 2. Limerick needed a goal but kept going for points rather than work opportunities for the green flag. It'll be interesting to see where this great Limerick team goes next. After Kilkenny lost the 5 in a row final in 2010, the Cats won 4 of the next 5 All Ireland titles. Hard to call the final. Both Clare and Cork have momentum. Should be a great occasion. Both teams have great supporters. Looking forward to it.

Cork deserved to win, but hats off to Limerick, they have been great champions and I for one don't believe we've seen the last of them. There have been some negative comments about the referee here but I would compliment him on a job well done. It's not easy these days with the speed and level of intensity but I thought he got most calls right. Of course he made a few questionable calls but no referee in any sport gets everything right. I think he made a big contribution to a brilliantly entertaining game. midlands (Westmeath) - Posts: 583 - 07/07/2024 19:29:17 2557504 Link 0 |

Fair play to you.A true Sportsman!I know the feeling you as do Kilkenny fans. Its a horrible feeling because while you can look to next year you know the dream for 5 has probably gone forever. However believe it or not when Limerick win again (and no reason they cant next year you will enjoy it all the more.

Have you been watching the Tour De France realdub. It only one week in and already being considered the greatest ever! It non stop attacking! Today's stage was utter carnage on the gravel! It's totally absorbing, and 2 more weeks to go, hallelujah!

Fantastic game. Had no dog in the fight but was sort of willing Limerick to do it at the end, perhaps selfishly hoping it wouldn't end! BarneyGrant (Dublin) - Posts: 3118 - 07/07/2024 20:14:08 2557518 Link 0 |
Hopefully Galway get Dublin in the Camogie Semi Final......handy one for us!

I picked Limerick today like many others. Did not think Cork had 70+ minutes in them. They proved me wrong. Played out of their skins as well as showing some fabulous skills. Limerick are far from done and I predict more All-Ireland in them. Especially when those subs are more in touch with the team game and not personal glory. I am plugging for Clare now. It will be a different game than to day. Just wondering was today Cork's All-Ireland. They may prove me wrong for the second time. Anyway tired of always being right LOL. Wow - What a win by The Rebels. 1-28 to 0-29. Fully deserved imo, in front of 82,300 fans. What a game and what an atmosphere. They have beaten The Treaty men twice in the championship this year. Some achievement. Even more so considering they didnt score for the last 10 minutes. And Pat Horgan didn't score for the first 35mins, I think it was. So glad he eventually passed toe 700 points mark. The Cork defence was amazing tbh. And their goalie - wow. Three wonderful saves. Limerick will be kicking themselves though. 14 wides, and only a 57% conversion rate from shots from play, compared to Cork's 70% They had more shots and more goal chances, and missed some easy chances it has to be said. Just not to be their day. 5 in a Row is so difficult.... Clever by Cork avoiding Kyle Hayes wing but Aaron Gillane, what a game, top scored with 10 pts. So who will win it now - Clare whose last win was 11 years ago, or will Cork will their first Liam since 2005, 19 years ago. Some wait for Cork tbf. Great to see someone new win it. I see a lot online asking whether, in the modern era, the 4 in a row Cats were better than this Limerick team, considering Kilkenny got to a final in their attempt to win 5 in a Row. But that debate is for another day.... I know Cork also achieved 4 in a row in the 40's Congrats to Both teams on a brilliant game of Hurling and a shout out also to the referee. Hurling - what a game. Thank God we have it, to enjoy days like this. Fionn (Dublin) - Posts: 3975 - 07/07/2024 22:24:06 2557555 Link 0 |
