Replying To Ryanteam:  "That is true. Meath won the Tailteann Cup last year, but are struggling again in division 2. At least, they are guaranteed a place in All Ireland competition this year. Unfortunately, participation in the Tailteann Cup would be viewed as a punishment for Cork and Kildare. The merits and pitfalls of Tailteann Cup have been debated at length, and we'll see if it stands the test of time."
Participation in the Tailteann Cup was also viewed as a punishment for Meath, but if you end up in the competition - ultimately you deserve to be there.

Replying To Ulsterman:  "Fitzmaurice is an excellent commentator, very knowledgeable and fair to all teams. I've had my say on Cantwell. I think she tries to control all conversations and pundits like a prim schoolteacher. It seems to be all about her. Whelan has been there too long while O'Se used to be good but he just looks bored now. The whole programme is as stale as month old bread. I always found Dara O'Cinneide very good and couldn't understand why he wasn't part of The Sunday Game set up."
O Cinneide is too pc

Before you click on this thread, you know it'll be 2 things:

1. Some GAA answer to Joey Barton moaning about Cantwell while claiming not to be a caveman; and
2. The rest finding fault with everyone for reasons so trivial and so subjective that you suspect their lives must be fantastic if that's all they have to bother them.

Think they need to have neutral people doing games and no one from the competing counties..I never liked cantwell on the programme and she has a habit of butting in when things are progressing except last week when she left Donal og rant away..I think Fitzmaurice is very good..on the hurling side I have great time for duignan and daly..I like dowling when he's with Donal og cos I always feel it's close to a bust up..Gary Brennan is another who is very knowledgeable.they badly need to show highlights of games not being shown live..anyone know what way coverage of league is suppose to go??I thought RTÉ were doing the Saturday games but for last few weeks I see tg4 covering a live game aswell..don't get me wrong delighted with the coverage but if this is possible for league games can the same not be done for championship games..also analysts better on tg4..

Evan NiCuillan would be a far better and knowledgeable presenter. Fitzmaurice can be a good analyst but he is woefully hard to listen to…same dreary tone all the time. Duignan is very good and calls it as it is which goes against what RTE wants… Can't take Daly as he gets all excited about next to nothing… By and large there are far too many analysts talking nonsense.. It was far better when Brolly , Spillane and the likes of Loughnane were giving an honest view… all too contrived these days to suit RTE…

Overall, RTE have been far too tolerant with Cusack. He tends to use the Sunday Game as his soapbox to let off steam about his pet hates, instead of airing his views on the actual matches. It sometimes seems like he has decided in advance what issue he's going to highlight on the programme. No doubt, as soon as the championship starts, he will again be given his stage on Friday morning radio to spout his well-rehearsed soundbites.

I love listening to Donal Og, the guy makes perfect sense. If he doesn't stand up for hurling who will?

RTE should get rid of him. He's too controversial and looks for problems. Too hotheaded by far, and need pundits who can analyze a game, along the lines of football's Peter Canavan.

Donal Og stands up for Cork hurling first, a pain to listen to.

I found It unprofessional of Canavan a few weeks ago saying he hopes Derry won't win the All Ireland. He is entitled to those views off the camera but his job is not to hate on Derry. Him and Cavanagh can't deal with how Harte is quickly becoming a Derry hero.

He is a bit away from being a Derry hero yet… An All Ireland win is all that will hand him that accolade…!

Who thought that Flynn and Cavanagh talking tactics in front of a big screen, with Cavanagh interrupting Flynn and blocking the view of the screen was good television?

Cavanagh wearing pyjamas isn't a great look either.

Sunday Game has gone downhill big time.

I watched TSG last night and the coverage was horrendous. The Louth v Wexford game looked like it was filmed on a really bad phone. Then you have the boring analysis of Cavanagh and Flynn. Also, everyone knows the state of the Leinster championship, trying to have a debate on it during an hour and a half of a highlight show is not the time or place.

Sean Cavanagh has an agenda; he constantly criticises the other provinces but offers no viable solution to fixing what is broken. Everyone acknowledges that the Ulster football championship is the only competitive provincial football championship just like Munster is, in the hurling equivalent. Pundits are suppose to inform the public; not tell us what we already know over and over again. I hear nothing insightful from any of the pundits on RTE. The elephant in the room is that we are suppose to believe that there are 16 teams capable of competing for the All Ireland and the rest are a waste of space because they can't get up to the standard of the top 16. I have nothing against Meath nor Cork in football but neither have done anything recently to indicate that they belong at the top table and yet pundits talk as though they are capable of beating Dublin and Kerry respectively. They are there to analysis what they see, not what they've seen previously or what to see. If they analysed what was in front of them honestly and informatively then it would be a good start.

I know the SG is going downhill but last night took the biscuit. Boring, and Sean Cavanagh, great footballer for Tyrone but please, no more TV. BBC North are running rings around RTE. It could be partially to do with one sided matches but the programme is far from professional.
