It was a stupid idea, with the obvious problem of giving Dublin 2 home games. County delegates from all over the country signed off on that lest we forget. Perhaps they might have a double header at Croke Park. Dublin Vs Mayo and Galway Vs Armagh would bring a sizable crowd. with the following benefits 1. Winners could potentially qualify for QF and have extra week break. 2. Would give teams game time in Croke Park, as they would be vying to play there in QF - Finals. Galway v Armagh brought only a few thousand to Carrick last Summer. Dublin will have to play their Neutral game outside of Dublin. If it had passed, it would have meant that no team could have used Croke Park as both a home venue and a neutral venue. The proposal was defeated by a 64pc majority. Dublin's GAA John Costello described the motion as "divisive and mean-spirited", former GAA former president Seán Kelly from Kerry and Wexfords Tony Dempsey and Meath's Francis Flynn also spoke against the motion, with Kelly describing it as negative. Given all that, no county can now complain about Dublin having Croke Park as a neutral and a home venue, your county boards all had their opportunity to change it but didn't back the motion.
