Attendances 2023

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

Limerick v Clare 30,460
Leinster football Double header 30,490
Cork v waterford 29,104
Armagh v Down 22,520
Derry V Monaghan 13,371
Kilkenny v galway 14,000 ( best guess of someone there )

Thats circa 150,000 people at 6 GAA venues over the weekend, a lot of people.

PS Leinster hurling attendances are a closely guarded secret it seems , Bound to have been another 7/8K at the Wexford v Antrim & Dublin v Westmeath hurling games.

The same 2 counties only had 3,616 at Munster football semi final previous week in same venue . Some difference."
I tried to buy a ticket late for the football game to find it was sold out. Only the stand in Limerick was opened for the game. Limerick County board didn't open up rest of the ground hence it was a "sell out". Some joke!

Only a shade over 4,000 in Wexford Park for the Wexford v Antrim match. A very poor attendance.

Will be 40,000 maybe. It is novelty and Louth I expect will bring a big crowd. More Dubs be there following close run thing on Sunday.

I fear to think how many will turn up on Saturday. Dublin and Wexford die hards, which judging by what you say and how many were in Parnell, I'd say be less than 10,000.

I know CP probably preferred by Wexford but will be dismal atmosphere. slightly depressing even when we win on evenings like that!

The Mackey stand can hold 9,000 so not sure how you make it a sell out with only three thousand odd there , mackey stand was half empty for football match. Maybe if your too close to throw in they cant be bought online. Be interesting to see what attendance Kerry V Clare gets there next Sunday - 12K maybe .

Depends how late you were. Online sales close something like 30 minutes before throw-in. Could be the case that you were too late to buy a ticket, rather than it being a so-called "sell-out".

I don't see the need for closing online sales like that myself, and the cut-off time should definitely be better publicised, but this might explain your particular situation all the same.

I'll be interested to see the crowd there from Louth at the final, it was a 45k attendance at Louth's last final with Meath in 2010 and I'd wager to say that the football was more popular back then. There was 19k at Dublin v Louth in League and it seemed about 15k there for the Louth v Offaly game (of the 30k, possibly more but Offaly brought more I felt).

There's good hype around the team at the moment but it doesn't just feel quite the same as 2010 hype and possibly impacted by the increased popularity of other sports in Louth since 2010. Hard to know, hopefully we show up.

If Kildare had bet Dublin there would be a massive crowd from both Louth and Kildare at the Leinster final.

There's meant to be up to 35,000 at the Cork v Tipp match. Dublin v Wexford will have a very poor attendance. Antrim v Kilkenny will probably get around 3,000 I have no idea for the Joe McDonagh games, we never get official attendances figures from them so I don't even know how to estimate.

Two provincal finals could be modest crowds. 35 Euro for an adult stand ticket is plenty . Especially when both matchs are viewed as forgone conclusions by many & Their on TV.
12K at each would be a reasonable crowd.
Munster Hurling & Ulster Football are the biggest crowd pullers in recent years until all ireland knockout stages.

9,125 at Dublin v Wexford.

Surely would have better playing the game at Parnell Park

Well it wasn't played in Croke Park for attendance reasons
