Attendances 2023

(Oldest Posts First) - Go To The Latest Post

There is usually a thread tracking crowds, I don't see one this year so I'll kick it off

Football
13,654 Mayo Galway
17,500 Dublin Kildare

14,113 Armagh Mayo
7,000 Galway Roscommon
10,232 Kerry Monaghan

Hurling
12,000 Wex Kilkenny (Walsh Cup)
8,200 Wex Galway
19,500 Cork Limerick

Championship crowds there. Big numbers in Navan and Newbridge as well but couldn't track down the figures

Nearly 6,000 in Cusack Park for Westmeath vs Cavan, approx 2/3 of that from Cavan. Brilliant supporters.

Hurling crowds this week

15,521 Limerick Clare
8,872 Galway Cork
10,458 Kilkenny Tipp

Looked like a good crowd in Parnell Park for Dublin Antrim.
Portlaoise seemed very empty for Waterford v Laois.

Parnell nearly full. A sign that there is optimism around the team, but also as in other counties that people really enjoy watching inter county hurling even when the competition itself has been further diminished by the changes.

It was interesting to talk to some of the Antrim people. They obviously see potential in the team, but frustrating to run the likes of Dublin and others close but not to get points on the board. I reckon they are a bit ahead of Laois so that game will most likely decide who stays up.

No official figure but around 500 at London v Donegal on Sunday in the Hurling.

Decent game and a shame there wasn't more in attendance given it was free to get in (as all London home games this season)

That's more than was at the 1998 final down there. That was a miserable day. Pretty much the nadir of the post 1995 era. Barely recall anything about it other than Jason missing a few chances, losing pretty half-heartedly and only having enough time for one quick pint in Tomkins pub opposite the train station.

Didn't hear the attendance in Croke Park nor seen it in any reports, but must have been close to 25,000. Good crowd in for the hurling too.
