Brilliant to see cian lynch starting. He's going very well by all accounts. The 15 named will start tomorrow but there will be a few switches I'm sure. It's a serious 15 named and this is where they come alive.

Replying To Seeking_silver:  "Team due to be named this morning. However, I don't think the named team will be what lines out on Sat evening. I think Dan will end up playing CB. Mike C is a better FB than corner back so I'd have no problem bringing Dan out of FB with English going to the corner.

Personally I'd like to Hayes at CB with Nash and Byrnes at either side. That would be a serious attacking CB line. Then let the FB line concentrate 100% on Whelan, Concannon & Co. I see Kevin Cooney is named to mark Byrnes. I'm not sure that will happen on the day."
The team was announced last night. It is on the LK GAA website. Hegarty in selected at LHB, Lynch at CF, Reidy at LHF and PC at LCF . Team on expected lines otherwise.

I think that half back line will start as selected. Three lads who can win the ball in the air and move forward with it.

Plenty of options to move Hayes/Hegarty forward if needed with subs from the bench.

Great team. Lets hope they do the business now.

It's a formidable half back line for sure.
Be intriguing to see Hegarty at 7..
I know he was part of a brilliant half back line at u21 and he hasn't been firing yet in the forwards.
He can certainly offer something playing from deep.

Great to see Lynch named to start as well. Been hearing he was really good in training so hopefully this is him coming back to his best.
This line up gives Shefflin something to think about.

Its a big call putting Hegarty wing back, but Its a very exciting prospect. Minimum disruption to the Full back line is smart, as Galway have a formidable inside forward line that needs watching an every one need to be familiar with their duties.

As regards the forwards Cian Lynch must be flying it in training if he is in instead of Cathal O'Neill.

Also I think our bench looks both experienced and talented. There are some serious options there i.e. Cathal O'Neill, Richie English, Graeme Mulcahy, Colin Coughlan, Adam English, Barry Murphy, Oisin O'Reilly and Conor Boylan

That is a HB line to worry about. Could it possibly stronger than with Declan?? Will it be a master stroke? Will they even start as named?? We shall see tomorrow evening!! Cannot wait

That's the thing.. If the team starts as named, it's very strong.. Lynch back at 11 is great to see.
Hegarty could be as effective rampaging up from 7 as Hayes who will offer something different at 6 than Hannon.
Alternatively, could they change around and throw a curve ball by Moving DOD to 6 and Lynch back to midfield. Hegarty reverts to 10 and Reidy to 11.
Equally strong team.
The only lines that don't change are the full forward and full backs. Definitely hope they leave Dan at 3.

DOD has all the attributes to do a job at 6, apart from height, so WOD drops back on opposition Puck outs to offer cover there..
Really looking forward to the game.

Congratulations, Limerick. Solid, man-like performances with some brilliant passages of play, too. Still not firing on all cylinders though, especially when it comes to shooting accuracy. But that's a good position to be in going into a final; having a few things to work on. Would love a Limk Clare final but can't see them overcome the Cats.

Great performance and another 10% minimum to come. I thought hayes was incredible. DoD was excellent and cathal o neills cameo was a snapshot of what this guy is going to bring in next few years. But above everyone I thought Dan Morrissey was a mountain. This Limerick team is some unit. Down the best defender in the game and their leader and captain and they made Galway look poor today after their own poor first 20 mins.

Huge congrats to all.I have to admit I was very worried after 25 minutes..there was nothing going right..I should have known better at this stage, never doubt this panel of players..I know gillane got 2-6 and Donovan man of match but once again today the backs in second half were excellent..can I mention Dan who didn't put a foot wrong again,a player who always goes under the radar but very seldom does anything wrong..they were almost unbeatable in the air when they got to pitch of the game..Cian was getting better as the match moved on..another great day for limerick and hopefully one more huge day to go..work still to be done but looks as if they are getting to the boil at right time..also kiely showed ruthlessness again when taking Tom off after two bad wides..now sit back and enjoy other semi.

the more i go to croke park the more i love that stadium brings back some great memories and yesterday was another for the memory bank. what a great team performance. the backs from 20 minutes on were awesome despite missing the best corner back in the game and arguably the best centre back. dan morrissey and kyle hayes deserve mention rock solid. dara o donovan is really turning into a vital cog in this machine he is putting ball on a plate for gillane and flanagan. cian grew into the game and looks like will be a lot better come final as did peter casey,,, .another great day again and well done to john kiely kinnerk and bkroom for getting everything spot on. i wonder how kathy is keeping my ol friend i must give a shout over to the galway page....((

So it seemed inevitable to me that it would be repeat of last year and here we are. It may not have been as smooth as I would have predicted but what is. Kilkenny had only 5 wides today and bar a ridiculously stupid play out from quilligan and Hayes to gift them a goal I felt clare might have squeezed past them. Kilkenny have a very strong panel when the likes of cian kenny wally Walsh padraig Walsh richie hogan are introduced so this will be mouthwatering.

Limerick and kilkenny will both improve a nice bit from this weekend. I fancy us to do it but in typical fashion it will be kilkenny to try and stop limerick from equalling the great team of the 00s

We really turned on the power last night when it was put up to us and everyone stood up because we had to before ht. It was good to see a lot of our regulars finishing out the game and having the fitness to do it and I think we are looking back to where we were 2 years ago. Cian worked himself into the game after looking lost for the first 20 minutes and by the finish he was the fulcrum winning possession and throwing it out the runner, another 2 weeks and he'll be better again. As for the final KK are better than they were last year but if Kiely gets his incremental improvements in the next fortnight then we will win.

Couldn't agree more, I can't figure how Kyle Hayes hasn't gotten man of the match for yesterday or the Munster Final

Was listening to James Skehill, Paul Murphy and Tommy Walsh on the drive home last night and all three were talking about our corner backs and the need to deny them the ball. Will be interesting to see how Kilkenny go about that. The presenter asked Skehill/Murphy if the '4 in a row' will weigh on us for the final and they said no, this team is too professional for that and will approach the game as another game to be won, another opponent to be beaten.

The team's scoring rate is getting back up towards recent years and given the number of wides we are still hitting, if they can peak for the final again we have a great chance. 35 & 32 scores in the last 2 finals and it will probably take similar this year to beat Kilkenny.

I need to watch it back on tv but was there a tactical tweak in the second half, did reidy do the regular midfield roll with Lynch playing as a withdrawn Center forward or did he just find his game legs as the game went on either way he really grew into the game.
Watching the game live I said to the person beside me that Dan was my motm, he was rock solid and secure especially when we had no shape or control for the first 25 mins but was delighted to see DOD get motm, he has had better games and often not got a mention. It took WOD a while to adjust and to realise you almost need to be looking as much behind you as in front of you when you are playing CB.

Powerful display from 30 mins on. Probably our best performance since the 2021 All Ireland Final v Cork. The Limk game plan was executed to perfection and I think that is why DOD got MOTM. Some beautiful cross field passes for Gillane and Flanagan in that period before half time whilst also chipping with some scores himself. Hayes was outstanding in the second half and I don't think there was ever any doubt in JK mind to keep him at 7 to allow him to make those thundering runs forward. Cian's move to centre forward in the second half was also key as he linked with the play very well laying on the pass for Reidy for the goal.

What will happen if Declan Hannon is fit for the final. Who will lose out?
