Approach with caution, we've all seen how precious some of the Limerick posters can be.

The player in question didn't go on the team holiday because of it.

That's not the point yeah we all got in a spot of bother at some stage but as a role model and a national known player ya can't be at that. Problem is aswell Viking it's not an isolated incedent especially with limerick lads… Kilkenny didn't have any hassle

I know what you are saying re role models. I wasn't there the night in question for all I know it could've been a case of self defence. Everything I've heard about it, which is a fair bit now at this stage, is at least 3rd hand information. It's not even from someone else that was around the incident. That's why I didn't feel I should be posting about it.

You might need to be brought up to speed with something similar going on in Kilkenny at the moment so.

I was talking about Kilkenny in the 00s. But I genuinely haven't heard of any incidents regarding Kilkenny lads recently.

Good to see plenty of lads who weren't overly exposed at this level getting chances again, hopefully Conor Foley will get on for his debut, young lad with alot of potential, great for Gavin Bailey to be back in the fold too.

Team named. Good to see Niall Murphy get a start. And good to see him giving more starts to some of the lads who played in Mountrath. Strong bench. Conor Firman back on the panel. And the 2 u20s being around the panel also.

Great to see Gavin Bailey back fit enough to start also.

Made it back as far as McDonald's in Kilkenny. Good game in Birr on a very heavy pitch. Only 1 certain championship starter started for Wexford in Liam Ryan which was good to see. Much more intensity than the Laois game, so much so the poor ref had to book 5 of his teammates and send 1 off in the 2nd half. Shortly after that Lee Chin came on and shortly after that he got a goal which left us 8 points up and the game fizzled out as Wexford emptied the bench and lost their shape altogether.
2 criticisms of the time after that.
Firstly some of the more established 1st teamers didn't seem to try as hard as the lads who started when they came on. I know the game was over pretty much but it was shocking we didn't score for over 10 minutes. OK the Offaly keeper made a great save and we probably went for goals more but the Offaly backs came out with the ball with little or no pressure on them time and again and Offaly got the deficit back to 3 when they scored a bizarre goal from a free from 40 yards out.
Secondly and I'm not sure if it was a management decision but the team sat off Offaly during that period. Dee O Keefe came on with a few minutes to go and seemed to mark Ian Carthy who was our spare man at the back at that stage! Good to get the win though as it adds a little extra meaning to our last game in the Park under floodlights against Kilkenny next Saturday!
