Pathetic turnout for the footballers.

As I said last week we drew with Fermanagh, big deal, got hammered today as I expected,

Disappointing.

Sense of deja vu really in that we kicked some excellent points from play in the first half, and didn't hit a wide. I'd say every score from play were from mid-range and further out. But we left the door open for Antrim with a sloppy finish to the half and they exploited it to the full.

I thought their first goal was a work of art, and to be fair they were far better at kicking ball inside to their full-forward line than we were. We got caught on the overload for the second, and they were well set up not to concede a goal, nevermind any claercut chances. In fact, only for Brooks we could have genuinely conceded at least three more goals (he made three saves in a row at one stage). Thought the ref wasn't great.

I'd say the clash with the rugby didn't help the attendance and I will keep saying that the GAA have screwed up moving their calendar when they had the summer sports market sewn up for so long. Fair play to the pocket of Antrim supportrrs who did travel down, said as much to the lad beside me at the end. Not a bad side.

I still fancy us to get the required result vs. Leitrim though.

We didn't get hammered. Apart from a 10-15 minute spell in the middle of the second half when they noticeably injected pace into their movement and made 2 goals we pretty much matched them even with 14 men, although Brooks did make a couple of good saves also. We kicked some pretty poor wides in the 2nd half also from good positions which was disappointing also, especially after being really efficient in the 1st half. Paudie Hughes was a big loss with a recurrence of his foot injury, and Liam Coleman and a few others noticeably looked tired during Antrims spell on top. Eoin Porter had a good game. All to play for against Leitrim now hopefully we can sustain our 1st half performance for a whole game the next time out.

I think there were nearly as many Antrim supporters there as there were from here, save for an excellent turnout from your club Beano.

Don't want to be captain hindsight here but my 1 worry in the 1st half was our efficiency level at that point would be hard to maintain and so it proved, that 1st 15 mins of the 2nd half couldn't have went much worse and Antrim were cruising really towards the end.

Clearly didn't misunderstand his post and he is showing himself for what he is.

The one thing as well, we went five point up twice and there was no panic from Antrim, we needed a goal. However what these two games against Fermanagh and Antrim will hopefully do is give the squad the belief that they can get there. Life in D4 is miserable and there can be no doubt that half the battle to get out of it is convincing the players the effort is worth it. I think that these game show we are on the right track which will bring that extra out of the players.

very disappointed over that, was a bit worried at ht we had played some wonderful football in 1st half, kicked a lot of great scores but were only 2 up, but i did not expect what was to come in 2th, we still should beat leitrim but that will not hide the question can we compete with stronger teams?

I'd hate to see your reaction when we do actually get hammered then.

Being a worthless hindsight merchant isn't calling it as you see it, you haven't offered 1 opinion of substance since the match finished.

Lots of possession in first half, just happy to take points, we have no one to carve open defense with a killer ball, don't think we had one shot on goal

Taking off Ritchie waters who came on as a sub and scores a point was very harsh in my opinion
